Ya know if you type in the word SIGNS in the Etsy website, there are a fine selection of signs at extremely low prices. I don't get it,,, 3D Backlit sign for $22.00 Neon sign for $21.00 Lazor cut metal sign for $40.00 Who's making those signs? Or are the ads misleading?

I’m actually looking in to that. I’m thinking that’s a base price, then you add to that with options. I’ll let you know what I find. I’m getting a price on a sign we did previously.

I was kinda thinking about doing CNC Routed signs. But I was confused about what other people are charging. My minimum charge would be triple of what I see on ETSY.

I looked there. Unbelievable prices. I found one that said $38.50+. When I opened it up to order one there were no 38 dollar signs, they went up to around $80 and then you select a finish and it goes up to $157 with a shop discount bringing the total to $78.50. Close to twice the advertised price and still 25% of it's value.
Alicia, that's not a market I'd want to get into. I want a clientele that is challenging me to do my best, not my cheapest.
Oh, that price includes FREE packaging and shipping.

Yep, just don't sound right. Like the old saying says, "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't."

i had a store on Etsy for a number of years. I would heartedly NOT recommend fooling with Etsy. At one time it was a somewhat decent place although tricky to almost impossible to be successful. In recent years there has been a rush to the cellar as far as pricing goes. I saw so much stuf priced where they weren't covering their materials, nevermind the fees or shipping. The competition is enormous too, thousands of people selling the same thing.

sounds right to me rick, why would one want to do any other than "my best, not my cheapest." i started that with my first sign 49 yrs ago, and will still feel the same with the next one.

This reminds me of the person who called me one time to say City Signs and Master Signs were in a bidding war over his sign. One would call him and knock a hundred dollars off the price and the other company would knock a hundred dollars off that price, etc. He then excitedly asked me, "David, do you want to get involved in this?" I told him "I know both companies. Either one will do a nice job for you. No, I do not want to be involved in this."
