Has anyone here tried depth carving glass or acrylic using a sandblaster and liquid silicone rolled on as resist / masking ?

I've used it in wavy, uneven lines to get an interesting background texture, but not as anything that needs to be precise. Edit - mine was on wood.

How do you get the silicone resist off without any residue? Can you get paint to properly adhere where there once was silicone?
