My 24" monitor on my computer I do design work on finally bit the dust after about 13 years. Looking at new ones I see some 27" for very reasonable prices compared to what I paid years ago. I've been OK with my 24", but maybe I'll be glad to have a larger one. I only use it for graphics and design. I use my laptop for internet. Thanks for any thoughts.

Go wider if you have the room on your desk. I do a lot of digitizing and a larger monitor lets you really zoom in. I actually have two monitors, a 27" for working and a linked smaller one to place tool pallets and other windows.

Size is one thing, but resolution is another. Many cheaper 27" monitors won't show you any more than a 22" or 24", but simply bigger, eg 1920 x 1080 pixels. Better quality ones will have up to 4 times the standard resolution possible ie 3840 x 2160 pix.
But beware you might most likely need a new graphics card to take advantage of the better resolution capacity - or the PC won't show you any more than the old standards...
I like it a lot!
A cheaper option is two monitors, but this avoids the join in the middle.

I'm with Ian. For me it is all about quality. I still go with large as well. Many years ago I switched our computers to Apple. The 27" iMac monitor blew me away with the resolution back then and it keeps getting better with every iteration since. I've done dual monitors in the past but I found it confusing. A good sized monitor with high end quality is my preferred setup.
I go for a top end graphics card and lots of RAM as well.

My 13 year old Mac Pro is finally acting a little unreliable. Contemplating the extra money for a 27 inch iMac since Mac Pro's are outlandish in price now. Whichever way I go I'm sticking with dual monitors. I lake having all my tool pallets open on the second monitor.

2 28" Samsung monitors here. Like Ian said, resolution is king.
