Mike Stevens passed. For those who knew him he was the "other" Mike Stevens and NOT the one who wrote the book "Lettering and Layout."

Mike attended many Letterhead and Walldog events and held a Letterhead event at his shop in suburban Chicago in the 90's. The last event that I saw him at was the Arcola, IL walldog meet. He was in a wheel chair and eventually lost his legs because of complications from diabetes. He spent his last few years in a nursing home. I don't believe his death was Covid 19 related.

Mike had a very sarcastic nature which didn't endear him with many folks, but he was computer savvy and was an early proponent of computer generated signage. Walldog Victor Drapal was a friend of Mike and asked me to post this.

Rest in peace, Mike!

Mike was a handful. Victor, in the true spirit of Letterheads, was indeed a good friend to Mike.

I thought Mike was a hoot. I met him several times at Letterhead meets.

I am sorry to hear of his passing.
