Hey folks. Boy this year has really been something. Lesson after lesson. Now I got a guy who cancelled a vinyl lettering job after everything was cut and ready to install. It wasn't for any reasonable reason, he was just told that someone else could do it cheaper (with cheaper materials & iffy service of course, but I wasn't getting into that discussion with this Effin' guy). Long story short the guy agreed to "give us the job" (again?), after renegotiating the price. Had I had a cancellation clause on my order, I would have just told him to go F himself, charged his card and that would have been that. But I don't have cancellation clause on my work orders. How should I word it so it sounds proper, but clearly lets customers know that if they cancel, we're going to charge them for our work right up to the point of cancellation? Thanks much guys. So furious! [Mad]

Felix, I have "50% deposit Required on all work." on mine. Did you get a deposit?

I have a clause " Non-refundable. 50% deposit".
NO deposit ---no work.

Hey guys. Yes, I did get a small deposit to cover my design time (To ensure they don't take my design to someone else). However I didn't ask for a second deposit once I had a price for the job itself.

I have this line on my sales orders.

Canceled orders will be billed for all materials purchased and labor incurred at the time of cancellation.

A few other disclaimers and policies I declare.

Terms: 50% down, balance due upon completion. Electric signs require 85% down.

Due to unforeseen underground or building variables, installation prices are estimated.
Actual time & materials used will be billed for installations unless quoted.

SherWood Sign is not responsible and offers no warranty on customer installed vinyl.
