This was the first sign design I did using photoshop...maybe 5 years ago or longer...I first drew a small pencil sketch...then scanned it in and of course it came out black and white...it was pencil...at that time I didn't know how to load color to the brushes.

Anyway got a call the other day and the town wants me to complete the sign which I had just started before it got put on hold...I thought the project was completely forgotten.

A little about the design...Summertown is a very small town...entertainment revolves completely around the athletic events at the high school...they field very competitive teams...seems like every year the baseball or basketball team goes deep into the state tournament...thus the eagle mascot was requested...I then decided to incorporate the eagle into a scene using a well known local waterfall...Rattlesnake Falls is only about 2 or 3 miles out of town...I did make the falls larger for more dramatic effect in the design.

The image used to create the rock wall...when I pulled up the old file I didn't like the original rock wall...so I drew up a new one yesterday using this yahoo search image and these photoshop tools.

Very ambitious endeavor...beautiful entrance sign.
I wonder where small towns come up with the money to buy expensive signs and if they put funds aside for future maintenance?

Great design.

A really sharp presentation. A great representation of the dimensional aspects.

Its nice when a project you thought was once dead, comes back to life

Can't wait to see it come to life.

Beautiful! Another classic design. Rusty's style comes through whether rendered in black and white or color. I can hardly wait to see the end result in full dimension!
