I just got a e-mail from Sue Serjeant and she said she wanted to let us all know that Sarge passed away March 8 from brain cancer.
I have such fond memories of the time we spend with Sarge & Sue in Australia, I will cherish them forever.
Rest In Peace Sarge.

Awe. Sarge was a great guy. Fond memories of sitting on our deck with Bushie creating The Hardly Normal Sign Company stickers. A truly nice man. Rest easy mate.

I never met Sarge personally, but I always heard great stories about him.
Rest in peace Sarge.

I remember Sarge from back when we had chat. It's always sad to loose one of our own.

Me too RicRax.
Sarge and I swapped panels in the 2005 panel swap. I'm hoping Judy will post the pic of it - and I'm hoping his family will enjoy seeing it again . . .
His note on the back said:
Hi Thanks for the swap! I try not to take these swaps too serious - thought a 'fun' saying would be better than something serious. Hope ya like!! Sarge!
I think it says a lot about his sense of humour, which seems to be a natural asset of most sign painters .
I can't remember if I met him at the Laurens, Sc or Swanee, Ga meet - or of I ever met him in person - but I do remember chat, and when you have a panel another sign artist did, you feel that 'kinship' with brothers & sisters of the brush.
Every time I look at the panel I think about Sarge.

Such sad news to lose Sarge, and also my prayers are with his family. I have a panel from him.

I hope there will be a Letterhead meet in heaven so all the good people can get together.

Sad news. Since I've never gotten to that end of the planet, I don't think I ever met him. I wish Sue the best.
