Steve has been having some real problems the last
few weeks and yesterday I had to call the ambulance to take him to the hospital.

I talked with the Dr. this morning and his kidney's failed so they are working on getting them up to speed along with some other issues.
She said this will be an ongoing issue and he'll
have to make a decision about dialysis down the road.

You guys have been such an important part of our lives I just wanted to let you all know.

So sorry to hear about Steve. Speedy recovery and tell him to quit drinking mineral spirits and that frog juice!
My mom had kidney problems and went on dialysis for four years. I went with her many times to the dialysis unit which was like a beauty salon with everyone yapping away and being friendly. Tough road to travel down, but it was quite tolerable.
Will say a prayer and hope for the best!

Update on Steve
I talked with the Dr. this morning
and his kidney's are improving for the time.
He still has a lot of fluid on his legs and is
still a bit confused so they want him to say
at the hospital a few more days.
I'm been busy turning a room downstairs
into a bedroom and they said they would provide
caregivers 3 times a week to help me out when he gets home.
Thanks for all your thoughts and prayer they sure mean a lot to us.

Posted by Don Hulsey (Member # 128) on :

Sorry for not getting back to you all sooner
Steve is home:)
He gets tired easily and sleeps a lot, but
I have the nurses here every 3 days and
the caregivers once a day so I'm just
working on getting everything figured out
and working out a schedule.
I've got the computer in our new bedroom
and when he is up to it I'll get him to check
in with all of you.
Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers.

Just checking in again, and sending more prayers!

Are there any natural drinks that would be good for Steve? I bet he could use something from online as there are a plethora of new "old" remedies, like Goji juice or things with Aloe vera which heal and build the immune system. He needs that along with your sense of humor Barb!
