Thought I would mention that Donna and I are getting married today...now that we both are somewhat retired and growing older we think that it might be helpful to be legally married in case certain future medical decisions need to be made...we'll stop by the courthouse after Walmart and lunch at Wendy's...we get our marriage license on the first floor and then at 2:00 pm we meet somebody on the second floor who can "tie the knot"...so to speak...then it's the old ball and chain...been together for 12 or 13 years...we've planned on getting married for years but just never made the time to get the piece of paper that gets recorded somewhere with the word "legal" attached to it...just never seemed to be that big a deal with us...we love each other very much and have the utmost respect for each other's feelings...the piece of paper will not add to or subtract from what we feel for each other...but it will legally make things easier as we grow old together.

All wedding gifts can be sent to the address below.

hennie and i......been together since 1982......still not married. and i can tell ya with all the medical stuff i have been thru(and dying)she never had any problems with the legal end of this arrangement. after my 1st surgery 2005, it was done in the hospital giving her full power of attorney over my disposal if i didnt make it)))) and every consequent hospital stay. when i died, and they finally took me off the "john doe" list and notified next of kin(hennie)because of previous hospital records stating that.......was never a problem.
being retired(recieving SS since 62)and she still has a job working every day......separates our incomes......if we were married....both incomes are combined.......which would put me in a different financial level for my VA MEDS.......
32 YEARS......best of my life with her...in them))))

Maybe it's not that big a deal to either of you, but couldn't you do a little better than Wendy's?
Congratulations.....

Happy to hear she's going to make an honest man out of you. Your wedding gift is on the way. It's a design for an apartment building sign. Feel free to use it anytime.

Dave...that's a very thoughtful wedding gift and I'm sure it will be handy to have for my next apartment job...but I had my heart set on a "FOR SALE" sign layout...however since that is all caps maybe Joe will send me one.

Frankly I do not approve of your choice of location for the celebratory culinary feast.
Other than that, congratulations, and may it be a long union!

Hmm, White Castle down the road is a kitchen/restaurant supply and furniture store.
Tennessee eh? Do they also supply the obligatory Shotgun escort?
All kidding aside.
I had to marry Annie, in order to stay in Oz, not a painful fate at all.
Best whishes to the both of you.

All of the very best to you both.

Congratulations Rusty and to your new bride!

Don't mind Si, as he was listening to "great day for a white wedding" by David B and got a little mixed up, or er, that's how Si interprets a good rock and roll song!
