Forty years??? When did that happen? Of course, it's hard to believe my first was 32 years ago. Wow! Time flies. Everybody else must be getting REALLY old. I may have to make this one.

Everybody:
We promised additional news of the 40th Annual International Letterheads meet, and here it is!
The meeting will be held at the American Sign Museum in Cincinnati. The estimated date be September 2015: this will be nailed down and announced very shortly. The logistics of the earlier Las Vegas site proved a bit daunting, and Tod Swormstedt suggested the Museum might be a very appropriate setting: we I heartily agree. We huddled up at last week's ISA show to start working out the particulars. There are "particulars" APLENTY, but the bare bones so far is that there is a very sizeable space adjoining the museum display ( as big as the Museum itself) where we can hold the event. As most of you know, the Museum is now in it's new home, which was masterfully built and curated by Tod and opened last year, following an extraordinary event during which themed character signage was created and implemented by a team of many of the top artists in the field. So this event will be significant in all ways: we'll get the chance to have a full-on meet, with educational seminars, plenty of project creation, sharing, fellowship---and all in a setting dedicated to honoring, encouraging, respecting and furthering interest in the traditions and techniques of our craft. A perfect location for an auspicious anniversary. Look for more news soon.
Yours,
Mark and Rose Oatis

Can I ride with you in your new Learjet..... ?

This is one meet not to be missed,I hope all goes well and everything works out so that this time nothing can keep me from being there.
The perfect way to gather all the friends you have met over the years. The hard part will be trying to make time to get to talk to all of them.

Sure I could understand the logic of sign people, because it's way easier and less expensive to go to Cincinnati by plane than to Las Vegas, after all the Cincinnati airport is in Kentucky and the ride should gain education for many as well...
Ohio is the last place on this planet I'd show up..

Vegas is fun but the sign museum is cool and a great experience. Looking forward to going.

We'll miss you Joey.

Well Judy and I planned to have a vegas trip soon, and we have never been to Vegas.. so this might be the time to finally attend a Meet!
Posted by Raymond Chapman (Member # 361) on :
Neil, the meet is not in Vegas - it's in Ohio.

From Sin City to Sin Sin Atti. I guess the party crowd wouldn't know the difference...
A few years ago, I went to the meet at the zoo and then Sophie and I spent a few hours at the museum, which was extremely cool. I'd like to try to make this and get to see the new museum digs.

Uh oh!
Cincinnati is more than a short trip for me!
Posted by Dave Grundy (Member # 103) on :
OH... Come on Si!!!
I bet you can get to Cincinnati by air faster than I can by car!!! 7+ hour drive for us.

I wouldn't miss this one for anything. . . A real "Letterheads" meet, haven't been to one in a while. I stopped in at the Sign Museum last summer and was totally impressed! Todd has done an outstanding job there & I couldn't think of a better place to host the meet. Looking forward to seeing all of you Ol' Paint Slingers again!
