I have been asked to quote carving a company logo and name into 22 chair backs. The carving is simple enough but the setup requires me to remove sections of my CNC machine and make a very snazzy jig to register and hold the parts. The time to program this will be extensive. Do I quote the setup separately? Hell... how do I quote taking a machine apart AND reassembling it? Can I for that matter?
In the end do I split the cost of the jig into the 22 carvings. I don't know if i'll get any more of these in the future?
Thanks for any input

price the 22 carvings separate and add a 1 time set up fee.

Thanks John
I split it up. A one time charge for the jig and a repeatable charge for the equipment alterations which I've incorporated into the engraving charge.
Hmmm..even with the jig cost, my numbers feel low. IF I think it's low, it probably is.
