Two years ago in Plymouth I was painting with Gary on his mural and he told me that he always wanted to build birdhouses, so I told him I wanted to commission his first birdhouse. About a week before Kewanee I received an email from Gary saying he was going to hand deliver my birdhouse to me in Kewanee. He had other commitments for the weekend so only stayed a couple of hours, and I was extremely humbled that he drove that far to bring it to me. I expected a little one and this is what I got!!!!
It's beautiful, Gary and I love it! Thank you so much, there are a few possessions in life that I cherish and this will definitely make that list. I'll send you a picture when I get it installed.

That is not a birdhouse!
It is a bird mansion!

Gary told me about his dream way back when we did murals in California. I had commented that those bird houses were going to be very special. From the looks of yours it seems I was right.
Congrats on getting a real treasure. And congratulations to Gary for realizing the first of many wonderful bird house creations.

You can't build birdhouses like that around here...
Typical Gary Anderson excellence. I'm looking for the rhino.

It looks like the perfect home for well to do purple martins, they don't like to live alone and they will clear the area of Canadian dive bombers. You know that Gary can't build just any old bird house, every thing he does is special.

you might have to get a zoning permit since the structure is over 2-stories... anyway, I think I might keep it inside, the birds would just poop on it

I only saw 2 red x's, but I can imagine what they look like coming from Gary. Actually I can only imagine the neatest thing I can think of, and that peobably isn't even close to what Gary would do.

Over several years whenever I was in Indy doing a workshop I would drive down to Bloomington and spend the weekend with Gary and Linda. Our discussions always turned to the topic of Gary's retirement and his dream of building birdhouses, especially Frank Lloyd Wright inspired creations.
He said that he had enough ideas in his head to last a lifetime.
Whatever Gary does you can bet it won't be anything but first class and over the top.

All well said....Gary, it's pretty dang cool...

Did you know that birds are simply dinosaurs that have evolved into their present forms?
Gary's an inspiration and now I know what I want to do when I'm retired although it won't be building birdhouses.
