I have a CM-24 that has developed a problem. when cutting curves it is not cutting smooth but instead creates small dots kinda.
What should I check?

Thanks
Jason

Check where the curves came from...sometimes I've had a dxf file imported with hundreds of little straight sections, instead of a curve.

Also look in the driver settings for a 'smooth curves' option, perhaps.

(I really don't know-just guessing in each case- we just have a PNC-1410 & 1000A)

you might also check your blade holder for any debris that might prevent the blade from freely spinning,...and while you are at it the cutting strip on the base below the blade, sometimes it gets damaged causing poor cut quality output,...

I have looked close at the vectors and they look fine. I have also looked at the blade and holder and it looks good. the blade spins smooth and freely in the holder. The last thing is the wear strip I guess.
Can the wear strip be "flipped" and use the other side?
Also how to I change? Is there any manual to show steps?

Also what does slowing down the cutting speed do other than make it take longer to cut stuff out? Is the cutting still smooth?

Thanks
Jason

I have a PNC-960 and the teflon strip has adhesive on the back, just peel and stick- I have taken it off and turned it around before- it was a temporary fix until I got a replacement strip in.

You can pick up new cutting strips via Fleabay easily enough, if you can't find a local plotter parts supplier-Roland or other...

Got a new strip and now looks like I solved my problem.

Thanks for the help everyone.
