Jack,...as much as I agree with the late Mr. Carlin's views on the situation when he presented it several years back, and how uncanny it is still even more a current explanation of our economical woes,...I'm more curious how long this post will last before it is censored,....at least you tried,...kudo's to ya brother,.....

Nothing controversial there.

Good post Jack, and I agree with most of what Carlin has to say. The more we find out about this government, the more aggravated we get....and the more helpless we feel, in the face of current goings-on.

There are a couple of more pieces like this, on the same page at YouTube. It doesn't bother me particularly; but there will be some who are turned off by Carlin's language. But that's just George....I'm kinda glad he got the chance to get some of this stuff off his chest, before he passed.

Gosh, I have been aware of these things for a quite some time now. I call it "The New American Slavery" The sad part is that most people don't even know about the invisible chain around their necks. I could go on and on,,,,,,,,,,

That's a good way to phrase it Alicia.

I wouldn't call that a version. I don't think Carlin was anti-government. He was anti-greed.

Like Brent...I think Carlin was talking more about how some of the wealthy and some big coporations use their money to buy off politicians in Washington by giving large amounts of money for their re-election campaigns...in return these politicians are beholden to pass legislation that favors their wealthy donors rather than the people...Shame Shame Shame...as a kid I was amazed when I found out that lobbyist could give money to politicians in an attempt to influence their vote...pretty naive on my part and I'm probably still pretty naive about alot of things...however I do think that any group should be able to hire people to take their concerns to Washington and present those concerns based on the merits...and that those merits alone should be what influences a vote and not the bag of money the lobbyist brings along with him...using money to influence the vote is just plain bribbery and should be illegal...I am all for strict campaign fianace reform...the stricter the better...that's my rant for the day.

Gee Rusty, and you expressed it articulately without the aid of any vulgar language.
Carlin was cool when I was 14, now not nearly so much. My he rest in peace.

Thanks Bob...although I have been known to use an expletive or 2 in my day...only rarely and I prefer not...depending on the circumstance...Ralph Waldo Emerson said it best...(paraphrased)"Sometimes an expletive is not only ok to use...it is the right word to use."

I don't see the diffence between the government and greed. The government always wants more. If that isn't greed, I don't know what is.
