Client has signs done at sign shop. I buy sign shop files when they close. Client finds me to do her work. Font on signs and in files is called "Stylemonger" with a notation that it is an Illy font. CAN'T find this font ANYWHERE!!! Any ideas? [IMG http://s254.photobucket.com/user/nikkigoral/media/IMAG0878.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0[/IMG] Posted by Tim Barrow (Member # 576) on :

Can I get the font only without the downloader?

After a few hours of downloading junk programs and removing them, I found out that it is a commercial font not available thru Eagle fonts or anywhere else. Thanks for the help!

Now after doing all kinds of font substitutions, I came up with Opti Lester which is a match! Whew! Thank goodness for the internet!

alot of the free font downloading modules come with an installer that tries to install free "junk" programs as you call them,....one must learn to read each install screen and check the appropriate boxes in order to avoid these programs being installed,...the programmers bank on folks just clicking okay or next a half dozen or so times to get these junk programs on your system,.....a piece of advice here,....anytime you have an open install program running on your computer,, READ EACH SCREEN CAREFULLY BEFORE CLICKING OK OR NEXT!
edited to add,...the way I found this out was by having to remove said "junk" programs myself after making the same mistake of not reading each install screen,....
i have started to look for direct download links whenever possible to avoid the problems with these downloader modules

I did skip all the junk, but all the skipping took forever and then I would dead-end at a screen and no way to complete the downloads. Should all be good now! Usually I find what I need on the reputable sites, but sometimes the client comes in with something they found and their whole "vision" is based on these stupid fonts!

Glad you found what you needed, Nikki.
There must be a lot of money to be made in designing fonts, cause there are more and more knuckleheads out there, "designing" fonts that a 3rd grader could've done a better job of.
Go on some of these font sites, and at least half of them are basically unreadable. I haven't a clue what they'd ever be used for......maybe on the bottom of a skateboard......where they belong!
