Just watching the destruction in Moore,Okalahoma from a massive tornado. Norman is just a little south of Moore, OK. Praying that you and your family are untouched by the tornados.

Back on May 3, 1999, we were headed to visit Monte and Pat in Norman. Earlier that day we toured Graceland in Memphis. About the same time the first recorded F5 tornado destroyed Moore.

We ended up in a motel near Little Rock that night. The desk clerk apologized for putting us in a second story room. The lobby TV warned of nearby funnel clouds and advised everyone to seek shelter to "save your lives." Pretty scary night.

Our thoughts are with all of you in the area.

Steve,

This one was much worse than the one that hit Moore, OK on May 3, 1999......This time, it covered around 30 square miles of destruction.....They still have not finished recovering all the bodies of those who perished.......I arrived in Oklahoma, for the first time, on May the 5, 1999, to work for Six Flags.

Thank you.

I'm seeing the devastation on TV and I still can't believe it. It's just unreal.

Judy, Monte is still recovering from a bad stroke, he lives in Norman, the same town that my daughter and her family live and they were very close, in fact between Oklahoma City and More. They had trees uprooted and some damage to their roof. After more than 25 years, they finally had a shelter built and this time it came in handy, it was that close.

Thanks for the information Bill. Glad that your daughter and family are well and had a shelter during this devestating tornado. I knew that Monte had a bad stroke quite a few years ago.
Has he had anymore?

Mike Jackson's mother lives in Moore, but Mike has reported that she is OK.

Joe Crumley lives in Norman, which is close by, but I've heard that he is OK also.

Our great friend, Fred Self is in Oklahoma City but it seems that the storm missed them

Mark Yearwood is in Weatherford, but it is 75 miles west of there.

The last I heard from Monte's wife was that he is recovering very slowly.

Thanks Bill. Praying for all those affected by the F5 tornado in Moore,OK. Just heard that the death toll is 24 which much lower than earlier reported.
