We're in the middle a very fun project here in our shop, building a whole series of larger and smaller pieces. The project will keep us busy for the next three months. The first piece is the primary sign. It will be done by weeks end, making room for the next one.

Very cool Dan . It's not often we see a Shay locomotive......... they're awesome.
Did you use the one over in Duncan for reference? You have some pretty accurate detail going on there but it's still in your "style".

Looking good Dan.

Dan, What type of clear latex glaze do you use for exterior work?

Can you imagine what would happen if Dan ever got serious and did something spectacular, like a real train?

Wow, an original Sawatzky 4-0-4. Those knuckles look just like the ones I worked with, but why are the hosebags missing?. :oP

The patina is nothing short of spectacular...I really like the rich color you've brought to the rust.
