I'm putting a new finish on a wood picture frame, Following a tip from Mike Simpson, I took the frame -- a simple flat-faced profile, maple color, gave it a couple thin coats of shellac, and then sprayed a thin coat of Krylon "Outdoor-Indoor Satin Black". The thin coat is semi-transparent and the effect is great. I was planning on a couple coats to make it completely black, but I think I'll leave it as it is. Thanks, Mike.
