I am currently using Avast Internet Security which will expire in 20 more days. Have been satisfied with it but have a question.

I have now purchased VIPRE Internet Security 2012 with a Lifetime subscription and can be loaded onto 5 computers.

Is anyone using VIPRE? If so, please comment on your experience so I can decide before I let my Avast expire.

Thank you.

Shirley, You can get AVAST free.

Thanks. I am using the paid version of Avast (good for 3 computers) but is the Free Version
effective enough to keep you protected with all the hacking, phishing, etc. that goes on today.

I have already had my email hacked and lost all my contacts, saved emails and such and I don't want to go through that again.

Thanks for your help

I am using the free Avast at the suggestion of my local tech geek (he works as a consultant to Apple and Google, not too shabby!) and have never had any troubles. I have it on 3 computers. I don't hesitate to recommend it.

Kimberly, does the Avast work for Macs?

Dennis...If you are Mac user why would you ask???

Everyone has always said that Mac's are never vulnerable to "attacks"? [Wink] [Wink]

Other than the "Big Mac Attack" on TV commercials!!! [Rolling On The Floor] [Rolling On The Floor]

AVG free is the biz!!

AVG used to be about the best. But alas like so many others they couldn't leave well enuf alone.

AVG no longer is the darling of geeks. AVG is a bloated pile of wasted code any more.

Dave, it's true that I've never had an attack, as far as I know anyway, in the 13-14 years I've had a computer.
Oh, I forgot -- I had a panic attack about ten years ago. Thought it was a heart attack. Weird thing. Literally could not raise my head off the floor for a while.

Dennis...Talk about a "panic attack"!!!

I forgot Shirl's birthday!!!

Major correction will be needed tomorrow!!!

I feel buying something expensive might be needed...

Remembering woulda been kinda less expensive!!! LOL

Avast/free here and love it, no issues here since!

AVG is the the worst crap you can load on a computer....no I take that back that award would go to Norton-Symantec. 2nd in worthless bloated crap would be McAfee. Ive seen where Mcafee took some fast running computers down to their kness

Avast right now rocks and runs silently in background does what it is supposed to do.

I too got rid of AVG because it was dragging stuff down.
