I'm curious if anyone in Illinois or the St. Louis, Mo area is using a ShopBot in their shop. I bought a used one this summer and want to talk to someone close to home that can share ideas, tips and advice. I've been practicing on small projects and making samples before I switch to a spindle motor which will be more accurate and quieter.
Also needing to find some Aspire users for 3D file creation. This is a learning curve that I am currently studying! I am really eager to learn all that I can and would appreciate any help on this journey into 3D world.
It will slow down at my shop in January and I will have more time to focus on the ShopBot. Time to challenge myself and learn something new.
Having fun so far, but wanting to push it to the extreme with 3D pieces.
Sign-cerely, Steve

There will be a workshop with Aspire near indianaplois this june featuring Jamie Oxenham..
And there will be a camp Mc Grews in SC in March. And there may be a cnc Aspire camp in Grand Rapids MI soon as well.

We would be very interested if there is going to be one in Grand Rapids.

Thanks Curtis, Indy isn't that far from where I am in Illinois. about 4 hour drive. I checked out his website and he does some great work.
Do you have a CNC router? If so, what kind?

Steve, Can't help with a Shopbot, I'm afraid, but we do use Aspire on our router - feel free to email or call if you have any questions.

Yes, I am doing some preliminary work to host a Aspire and cnc camp here. I have the facility and the time.
I guess its time to get after it and just get one going here in Grand RApids.

I do know someone with shopbot and very successful but probably still using signlab; Steve, let me know if you need that connection out of Chicagoland.

Everything you want to know and much much more can be found on or requested from the Shopbot Forum.
The members of the forum are not prejudiced against users of other machines (much) and are willing to answer any question you wish to ask (except job pricing - that seems to be a sore point there).

Thanks Guy. I have already signed up to the forum and getting my questions ready to ask. I am reading a lot of the posts which may eliminate some of my obvious newbie questions.
