3D Printer Posted by Brent Logan (Member # 6587) on :
That 3D scanner software is amazing. Those printers have been around for a few years but we've had to send them solid modeled 3D files.

From what I have heard, those scanners are not working as shown in these videos, you still need to d a lot of manual clean up correcting. That hand held one would never work as shown!

What I like about this ..Is it will re-place printers lol why ever since 1985 all I've heard is how bad paint is for signs when the vinyl letters hit here big, then those printers bashing even more of sign painters and vinyl letters, claiming wraps are the best thing since the invention of the wheel. lol Well have you know a fully painted mural-ed van has lasted 3 times the length of a printed versions and still looks like it was done last year lol
So seeing something like this I know this will re-place advertising signage of today, Knows I would be thinking all kinds of ideas with this lol
But since I can't even think of getting a printer much less just be lucky to get and learn the software, I really enjoy doing my advertising by hand.

I wanted a jack stand for a 1/48th scale Spitfire I was building, a bit of a diorama. Did a 3D CAD drawing and sent it to a shop near here. They could do it. $50 per part tho. A little rich, but amazing what can be done.
