Today the owners of the pub did a site inspection and loved the fireplace currently in progress.
The discussion turned to which piece we would hang over the mantle. Since the pub carries a strong British theme we agreed a tongue in cheek tribute to the great white hunter of the Victorian age.
I suggested a head of some exotic animal over the fireplace - the owner asked for a wild boar. I heartily agreed and suggested an antique blunderbuss on the mantle below with a brass plaque telling the 'true' story of the epic hunt.
It is getting better all the time!
