I was looking into the purchase of a Wacom Cintiq interactive Pen Display monitor.
I currently use a medium size Intuos 3 pen tablet. Looking to upgrade and would like some feedback from anyone using the Cintiq.
Not sure if I should go with the Intuos 4 medium sized pen tablet with a 27" monitor or the 21.3" Cintiq pen display?
Any feedback would be helpful.

I have the Cintiq 21.3" monitor and I would not trade it for anything! I tried the smaller tablets and could never get into it. The pen monitor is just so much better. My advice for anyone that owns one is to buy a 100% soft cotton glove and cut off all the fingers except for the pinky and perhaps the ring finger. The monitor does emit a little heat and if your hand starts to sweat it could get sticky on the monitor and cause your hand to stagger. Besides that, it helps your hand to be smooth and steady. I'm sure you will love it!

Adobe has Photoshop for IPAD, either out now or soon. Once all of the PS 'functionality' is available, it should be a game changer.

I'm with Brian, I have had mine for about 4 year now and Love it..But I do have the smaller one which I don't think they make anymore.
IPAD one might be interesting if it had a bigger screen.

I have an Ipad and quite a few art programs. This is in no way a replacement for graphic tablets or a Cintiq. Pressure settings and resolution being two big differences. Also the software is not nearly as powerful or robust as available on desktops.

Cintiq all the way if you can justify the expense!
I've been using the new creative suite 5.5 (photoshop extended plus all the other main design apps) for the past week. The iPad stuff is NOT in any way like running PS, it's just a color mixer and some other basic tools, menu shortcuts, etc that can sync up with your desktop and work in conjunction with PS. The iPad is fine for sketching out concepts but any kind of detail or accurate work is best left to the computer, it just takes too long on the iPad.

I do own an iPad and use it quite often but it simply can't do what I need it to do for work right now. I need to use Sketchbook Pro and the iPad version lacks the larger set of tools from the full version tools that I need.
I also need to run SolidWorks and will need to do a dual boot system if I get the Macbook Pro. I have the 27" imac at home with a Intuos Medium size pen tablet and really enjoy the brightness, clarity and real estate of the larger LED monitor.
I've been doing some research and found a few designers out there that are using both the Cintiq 21.5 and the Intuos 4 pen tablet. When their hand starts getting in the way while drawing on the monitor they switch over to the pen tablet.
Maybe I can just use the air display app on the iPad to increase the work area a bit and go with the Cintiq?
