Medical reasons following a fall last year.

Stumbled in the dark over one of the dog's toys and punched thru the bathroom wall. 18 stitches in my forehead and crushed nerves in my left elbow. Left hand virtually useless.

Many dizzy spells and falls since then and hospital visits for tests scans etc. Thank god for medical insurance.

Medication and a walking stick has me mobile again.

Unable to work or even drive a vehicle safely, it was time to retire. Selling this 1/2 acre property and moving to a Retirement Village across the park.

Sue and I get the Aged Pension now and we should make a good profit on the property sale, plus investments

I will remain an active Letterhead and concentrate on my artwork.

Can't keep an old dog down [Smile]

Welcome to the club Jon!!!

Sorry to hear of your reasons but retirement is not that bad.

I am having some walking problems these days. Can't go more than 3 or 4 blocks without having to sit down and give my back and/or hips a rest.

First order of businees when we return to Canada is a doctor apointment (already booked) and I want to find out what the problem is!!!

And what I or "they" have to do to fix it.

Retirement is great but the old age part sux.

I still think I am in my 30's...How come my body says otherwise??? [Rolling On The Floor] [Bash] [Rolling On The Floor]

The sign business a tough one to in which to achieve financial success. You've done well to set yourself up for retirement. Well done friend. Enjoy your retirement.

I still have these melodic fantasy moments imagining taking a vacation down under and getting to paint one of those sepia tone murals on a water tank with you Jon. Perhaps I'll not abandon that dream and you'll get well and someday when we're in our nineties it may come true.

I'm very sorry about your reasons for retirement, Jon; but I can certainly relate.

Following my stroke, I was wondering where I would wind up also. Things are coming back slowly, though, and I'm fairly much able to wobble around and do stuff. I've just dialed things back a good bit, and pick and choose what I want to do. I had thought of changing the name of my little business to "Wobbly Signs", but my wife nixxed the idea; said some folks might not 'get it'.

I hope much of your "disability" may heal, and wherever you go, you may be active and well, and keep in touch.

Retiring sounds great, but it sucks to have the issue forced. I hope you and Sue enjoy your new home. [Smile]

Comes with the territory, old buddy. Ah well, you have to agree that it's better to play with fewer cards than not to play at all.

I hope everything goes well for you after this setback. if I was you, I'd be hoping that I could just stay in good enough shape to continue my artwork. And if not, then I'd start reading some of those hundreds of books I've accumulated over the years but have never had time to read.

You'll never retire from the HNSC. It's a lifetime commitment since those in the Hardly Normal Sign Company need to be committed anyway.
