Our newest grandson was born at 3 this afternoon. Henry Leo Shortreed 11 lbs Mom & baby are doing fine.

11 lbs, wow! How many grandchildren does that mean you have now Barb? And are they growing exponencially in size? Good Heavens do you realize how big they could get to be at that rate???

Henry is our 7th grand child
His mother Debbie is Type 1 Diabetic and they said large babies are a common factor, he was premature and they had to deliver him by C section.
Henry had a stable night...his sugar level rose to 4.6 from the 3.1 he was before, and he was able to maintain that level for the night....they are going to try and take him off of the breathing support and see how his lungs hold up.
Debbie and Adam haven't been able to hold him yet so we're hoping that happens soon.

My first grandchild is now eight months old. I'm fortunate to be able to see her pretty much every day, to rock her to sleep, and to help her to understand the world around her.
