Gotta say is was pretty cool to watch. By 3:15am, the moon was a dark red. Everything outside looked like something out of a horror movie.

BTW, for those of you who missed it. Don't worry. You'll get to see it again during the winter solstice in 2094.

It was cloudy here. I was told that this morning by someone who didn't like sleep. I'll just imagine Glenn's description.

I'll put the next one on my calendar.

I checked it out a few times but it did get overcast which diminished the experience. Since the moon's orbit is inclined about 5 degrees off the ecliptic, eclipses are relatively rare. When there's a total lunar eclipse, there's usually a solar eclipse two weeks before or after since the orbits are closely aligned at that time. There will be a partial solar eclipse across Africa and Asia on January 4.

We would have had a great view- except it was so cloudy and foggy, we couldn't see anything but a reddish glowing haze- but we can also get that from the reflection from the city lights when it is that cloudy

During the Red Moon my Son comes out and yells to the neighborhood.. "Prepare the Sacrifice." Was really waiting for the Police.

Thanks for posting the pics Bill.

Shirley was up a couple of times last night to check out the eclipse. Woke me up both times and tried to entice me outside to look.

Wasn't gonna happen since I don't wear warm clothing in bed and it was down to 70 F outside!

Brrrrrrrrrrrt
