This is a seven ft. high by twenty ft. long sign I made for the schools new welding division.
MDO backer with all 15lb 1-1/2 in. SignFoam. I was wondering if a couple of people who make these dimensional projects could give me (and more importantly the ownership of the school) a rough idea what you might charge for this sign. It's all hand cut, carved and shaped. All of the colors are Ronan Aqua Cote.
Pricewise- can't help you, but the sign looks great!

Very nice sign Richard.
For a dimensional sign like this we get around $200 / square foot (or more). We would use 30 lb HDU and would laminate a welded steel, square tube frame inside for extra strength. This would also allow us to mount it off the wall for a little more play with shadow/light. We also would use the CNC to do most of the shaping and dimensional work.
Depending how you calculated the square feet of the sign would bring this sign in somewhere between the $12-16,000 range.
We don't get all the signs we bid on, but the ones we do get have the budget to go hog wild. We also make good money on them too.

Fantastic looking sign!
Lots of dimension.
I would charge $12,000-14,000 for something like that.
Gee, I was just in Cleveland the other week.
Peace, Bob

Nice work Richard. Mike Stevens would call it a Super Graphic, with good play on your background middle ground, foreground...I'm with Dan on this one. This type of work and size would leave this shop between 16 and 20 thousand dollars...and Yes you can sell this kind of work, don't let anyone tell you different.

On that 140 sq. ft sign I would charge $100 per sq. ft. $14,000. plus cost to install. Nice job!

Thanks to all. I definately would prefer to run this on a CNC, but since we don't have it was nice to hand craft something these days.
The prices all sound where I thought, I just wanted it to come from someone else.
Thanks again, you are all an inspiration to me,

Bob, I am truly sorry I missed you, next time give us a call and come and tour the school. We are five minutes from the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.
