I drove past a Village Inn today in Salt Lake City. I was blown away by their "new" logo. It's got nephew written all over it. Their corporate site doesn't reflect the change, but I found it on this blog:

Wow, and somebody approved this design which means two people with absolutely no idea of good design. Sad. This should keep business away.

Sign-cerely stunned, Steve

I think it was really done by the boss's girlfriend. That's why no one else said anything bad about it.

IDIOTS at the wheel, whoever designed it sux and whoever approved it sucks. This is just the kind of crap that I am seeing more and more of.

Does yours have the Lime Green tied in on the roof. They repainted ours with Orange and Lime green stripes to look like a circus tent.

I'll have to check the next time I drive by it. I couldn't take my eyes off the sign. It really is amazing that something so ugly could make it through an approval process and get made into a physical sign for a company with that kind of national exposure.

What makes the situation even more sad is that the designer probably made a thousand times more for the design than you and I would.

It would have been interesting to hear his (or her) sales pitch for the design.

Jack used my artwork. Shame on him.

That's sorry! I kinda liked the look of the old logo, but never really liked black on a lighted sign.

If you've got Baskin & Robbins ice cream in your neck of the woods, check out what some genius did with their new logo....if you can even read it.

Are you talking about the pink and blue logo with the 31 in the BR?! I love what they did with that logo and I've never noticed it being hard to read.

I was going to try and be funny and say I didn't see anything wrong with it, but wtf?

My 7 year old could do something more visually appealing and professional looking with a crayon.
