I haven't sandblasted hdu for quite awhile, last time I think I pre-painted with one shot, blasted, primed painted background and removed stencil then cleaned up.
I am using CoraFoam now, smoother dense HDU wanted to know if I should just apply stencil and blast then remove stencil and prime and paint with exterior acrylics.
How are others doing it these days?

Good for you Jeff.

What density are you using?

If you are using 15lb I apply a thin coat of plain old shellac. It dries in about 15 minutes and is an excellent base coat. Once in a while you may have some adhesive left behind. A light wish down with shellac thinner will leave a nice, clean surface.

Good luck.
