I'm having problems with signlab 7.1 not completing an offset shadow. It shows the shadow
the right way but when I'm finished there are parts of the shadow missing, all chopped up looking. I've restarted the computer, changed
colors of the shadow, and resized the copy to no avail.I'm sure glad I know how to use a brush because I'll have to paint the shadow. I'm about at the end of my rope with this junk, and when that mickey mouse dongle key breaks I'm gonna rip the whole damn thing out of the wall and toss it into the middle of highway 12!!!!

Calm down, could be something quirky about the font or who knows what. It happens.

Actually the shadow function in Signlab is one of the best and I have tried a lot of them.

Signlab has also made me want to throw expensive apparatus through the window. If you have done something to the type that has converted it to curves or ungrouped it. Try the group or make path commands. If it is still text, use text to graphics command and then try. It is similar to the problems of 'welding' objects, sometimes you have to group like objects together and then weld or the computer chokes on all the variables and you get the toss it out the window feeling.

Hi Bill,
I have SignLab 7.1 also and I have found that I have to make the lettering a path first before doing the shadow to make it work right. Also if you have a tricky font that has spikes on the sides or extra curves, it sometimes can't read the paths. Definitely make it a path instead of text to begin with and I see you already know about changing the color! It nevers welds or shadows white for some reason. You may have to zoom in on each letter to see if it worked. I have had a few where I just went in close and drew the missing shadow piece manually. Good Luck!

Sign-cerely, Steve

I have had this problem in the past and this is my work-around: convert your text to paths and break apart, then select it and make it a path, assign a fill and shadow. If you're still having a problem look at the characters that have 2 or more parts (O's, A's, B's, D's etc) sometimes the path directions are the same direction and they need to be running in different directions ie. outside of an "O" runs clockwise and the inside needs to run counterclockwise (if your not sure just zoom in on the letter and you should see a red ">" indicating the direction.
