Each year I like to post a picture of me mowing our lawn, when I know Rene is still shoveling snow. I'll admit some years I push it a little, faking the mowing and actually pretty cold in my shirtsleeves. This year it's for real.

In the last weeks, even though we are only mid February, the grass has been starting to grow. The flowers have been up for weeks, the leaves already out on the willow trees. Spring has sprung in BEAUTIFUL BRITISH COLUMBIA. Rene will know I'm not lying for I'm sure he has been following the Vancouver Olympics and we are generally 3-5 degrees warmer than they are on the coast.

So while I was moving the grass and enjoying the sunshine Bec snapped a couple of pictures. It's for REAL!!!

I hear Donna mowed her lawn today too in Yarrow...

Okay Danno.....now it's me that's peeved!! I visited the "left coast" about 20 years ago and fell in love with it all. So the truth be known....we're actually not shovelling right now (amazing as that is)as all the swell weather seems to have visited our friends in the DC area and Virginia.

I'll tell ya honestly Dan, This part of Oregon rarely has snow and we are surrounded by mountains and the weathers been in the 60's for several days now as mid February usually is. But as far as lawns, you can have them, I like wilderness and gardens, what I mean is, if I'm gonna work on the grounds, I've got to be able to eat it or smoke it in order to work it.

Thanks Dan.

I won't be doing that for 3 more months.

Ahhhh, the smell of fresh cut grass, ahhhh.

Peace,
Bob

Ahhhhh, the beauty of technology! The guy is 5000 miles away and takes a shot at my a$$! [Applause]

Although I would rather be on the left coast as Doug said, and as much as I hate winter with every cell in my body, we're actually having one of the nicest (smallest) winter on records ( so far, touch wood ).

Nice jab Dan, I guess I'll have to visit and kick your butt in person.

I'm for taking a vote to see if these "left coasters" actually have the right to call themselves Canadian.

See, if you lived in Texas you wouldn't have to worry about all that grass.

Dan, that Deere would be right at home here if it were 4x4, with chains and a snowblower.

This part of North Carolina hasn't seen a winter in years. We are having one of those 'Old fashioned winters', as they say. What we want to know is where is this global warming thing, anyhow? We have had snow almost full time since Christmas. Bah, Humbug!
