Just looking for some concept ideas for a "Home Brew" label.
Need some thoughts on a "Lazy Dog" beer label concept.
Thinking something like a black lab in a hammock, lying on a shaded porch, lying under a shade tree, sitting back in a recliner.
Also - Who Home Brews?
Thanks for the ideas!

Maybe have the dog leaned back on the steps, drinking from a mug... with a cat, or a raccoon, or maybe a fox sitting in the yard, just looking at him... maybe put a chicken in the fox's mouth... have the dog's other hand waving dismissively through the air like... "Getouuuta here..." Or maybe show the varmints running off in the background with the dog's owner chasing them with arms raised..... while the dog chills on the porch..... or have the dog kicked back and show the owner handing him a beer....
Hey, they may all be silly, but you said 'brainstorming' hehe...

Now that's what I'm asking! Keep them coming!
Got the name, but not a design idea yet!
Any Home Brewers?

Here's a beer label we produced that had a military themed background. I can imagine a similar type of label for you with just a big lazy, droopy eyed dog head hanging out over the banner, which would be the consistent symbol for the company and then just change the beer types on the ribbon. How about a cartoon of a German Shepard police dog with a bank robbery going on behind him...and he couldn't care less to stop it.
It's early and the coffee hasn't kicked in yet... Rapid

I just looked at this thread and the first thing that came to mind was an old golden retriever laying so lazy and sleepy on a braided rug by the warm fire, the fireplace has a nice stone hearth.
_ my 2 cents

I brewed back in the '90's.

I'm thinking a backwoods bayou scene with an old coon dog on the porch of an old shack with a brew pot (not a still) in the background. I also see mossy trees a rocking chair and using rich, dark colors, like browns, reds and blues.
Havin' fun,
Checkers

How about a Big Ole Saint Bernad with big droopy sleepy eyes with the Keg around his neck with XXX on it. He could be pouring himself a drink right from the tap on it.

When I indicated "Lazy Dog" Old Paint referenced OLD FROTHINGSLOSH. I don't want to upset the ladies here, but interesting site.
My son decided to try home brewing and I must say his first attempt turned out pretty good. First batch was sampled last night. Another batch due next week. Heppleweisen & Chocolate Stout. Pale Ale planned to be brewed next weekend.
"Lazy Dog" theme comes from watching his black lab. During the warm months, he likes to get in a hammock - I guess for the cooling air threw the weaves.
I would like to design a label for him from our brainstorming here. Good ideas so far. When one is selected and we design a label, will post it here. Maybe send a sample to the author as well!
Tks

Here is One I started for a Client.. Never finished as he Didn't want to pay the second part of the design fee.
I might finish it up and make a Dimensional and Glass piece from it.. It's based on one of Mike Jackson's Panels which was a redone Strong's.

If the name is based on a real lab in a hammock why consider alternatives?

upstate New Yorkers always make such good sense.... See how we are? What color is the hammock?

I'm not on my shop computer, but have a photo of Brody in the hammock with me.
You might be right, afterall the idea came from one of the photos - he is such a lazy dog sometimes! Born on April Fools Day 2008.
