As I've noted many times before the view from my window inspires me daily. Today dawned foggy but bright. As the day went by the mists burned off but rolled in again as sun set. Just as the sun dipped below the horizon it peeked from behind the clouds to reveal another spectacular sunset. I was waiting with my camera and grabbed a bunch of shots in the golden light.

This shot is taken from on my deck - just outside my studio. The sundial was given to me by my kids a few years ago and lives on one of the posts on the deck rail...

Because I used a wide angle lens to capture as much of the brightly colored sky as possible the mountain flattened out behind the mists. But it turned out to be a pretty cool shot.

I'm inspired once again in Yarrow...

I was flying low along the Oregon coast most of today where the weather was just right for high speed driving, twisty roads, high cliffs and giant trees. No time for photos yet walked a couple trails to the surf with my moll, made a 300 mile trip in 4 hours

Dan . . . you remind us all of how close the beauty in our lives really can be . . .

Within an arm's length sometimes . . .

No wonder I like you. You see what should be seen.

Yes, I agree with Jack. It's abominable that the lovely rusty sundial is in your yard and not mine. [Smile]

Fantastic shot!

Truly relaxing photo, Daniel. I haven't seen a sundial in years, much less one that cool. You seem to be surrounded with things that are peaceful and serene. I'd say you were a fortunate man, but its long been apparent that you've created your own serenity up there.

We have a kitchen window too. This is what we see every day. The little building is a ShootShed at the 100 yard pad Latigo just finished. It allows us to continue with Swiss Rifles load data development through the winter from a heated building. We shoot through a hidden port.

Almost done...........

And 13 hours later its finished just as the first real snowstorm of the year hits us. Meadow Peak is lost in a blizzard of snow.
Winter has returned to Lost Prairie.
