What would you use to fill an uneven gap or void in HDF? I joined two pieces of board and neglected to check back on it before it set up and one end of my joined piece fell below the other board. I need to built it up about 1/8" to match the other board...

Me thinks you've got a big problem there.....
Sorry, I tried but I can't think of a fix.
Maybe set it aside and save it for a sandblast sign???????

Why not put it on your table saw and cut along the joint...then pay attention when regluing it?

What size sheet is it? Maybe take it to someone that has a router and plane the entire sheet level. Make sure you "pack" under the gap side, plane it then turn it over.
Bet you learnt something here. What a great lesson.

Take it to a cabinet maker that has a large flatbed belt sander, that should resolve the problem. Sander is made just for this kind of problems.

Si has it. Len's idea is also good but would still leave a 1/8" difference on the back side. If you can afford to lose about a 1/4" in the blank length I'd cut out the seam and redo it.

Cut the seam and re-glue. You'll only lose a fraction of an inch.
