I know a lot of you know and care for my Wall Puppy, Samantha. She's very, very sick right now and I'd appreciate all of your positive thoughts and energy.

She was diagnosed yesterday with the H1N1 virus, aka swine flu. There was a case at her school which started back 2 weeks ago.

She basically has to be quarantined - can't leave the house for 7 days at least. Clay and I feel fine and we figure since we've been around her this whole time, we're probably not going to get it now.

The doctor was also concerned that she might be developing pneumonia on top of it so I'm waiting to hear back about that. Her cough is terrible and is just exhausting her.

I'll keep you posted.

I'm hoping to hear good news about Sam...what a special child. You all are blessed. I hate to hear of a sick young-un, but she'll get over it if all her aunts and uncles have anything to do with it.

Ive been keeping up to date on this virus. Not really any stronger than the regular flu, but seems to be spreading more. Also read today that they think it is transmitted more through contact than being the airborne type. I hope Samantha gets better soon, and it sounds like she is. God bless her and keep us informed.

Poor Samantha! How scary for your family.
She's a tuff kid, I pray she will be just fine.
Thanks for letting us know.
It is so hard when your kid is sick, you wish you could do it for them.
Love.....Jill

NO WAY! It didn't have anything to do with that "devasting loss" by the Giants the other night.
Seriously I hope Samantha gets back on track and will definately pray for that to happen.

Rich, Thank god she was so out of it with high fever that she didn't see that grand slam in the 14th. That was horrible.

Thanks everyone. Her fever is down and now she just has the cough and fatigue. Good news is she can't go anywhere until Monday so there's no stress to get back to school.

Good to hear Kimberly. I was just thinking about your daughter and how she was doing.

Now it's going to be getting past all of the
soreness inside and out. That stuff just drains
you physically and your spirit too.
I'll be be glad to hear how Sam, is doing next
week on wednesday.

BTW things are getting better for Matt, who I was
calling Mark for some reason.
He's getting spunky already with his parents.
Also I said he was 25 but he is only 19.
I'm just a mixed up old man.

Jack

Glad she's feeling better. It's running crazy here this week since school restarted. One high school football team had an outbreak and they stopped practices.

I don't know how I missed this post Kimberly, but I am so glad she is ok!!! I have been hearing bad stuff on the tv about others who have gotten this & did not survive.

And are you ok now? I hope so. I pray you will be fine too!

U-Oh! You guys aren't having fun, are you. Take care of yourselves and be good to yourselves. Don't push it. This stuff is wicked. Much love and glad to hear Sam is doing better...But not good hearing that Mom is feelin' bad now. All those hugs and kisses, worrisome nights and days of nuturing took their toll. Hope you feel better reeeeeal soon.

Thanks for the concern everyone. I'm on the upswing but boy this thing knocks you on your butt. I have NO energy and the dr. said it could take weeks to get back. Still coughing but not as badly.

Samantha, I'm glad to report, is doing great. Back in school and happy as a clam.
