A customer has asked us to install Gemini letters (cut acrylic) on the facia above his store. The buildings have recently got a facelift... plywood framing is covered with 2" thick polystyrene sheets or moulding and then a thin layer of stucco put on top. My husband wants to screw through the stucco and foam down to the plywood. My concern is that the stucco has already started to fall away in a place not 2 feet from where we want to install - and it's only 2 months old! (These property developers went cheap) So - will the letters (15"/11" high) hold if we just glue them up with the pads or should we screw them in and risk damaging the stucco??

Let's see..15" acrylic letters glued to failing stucco on polystyrene....... might last long enough for you to pick up your check...but probably not!
Listen to your husband!
Sheeeesh....gotta learn to proof read BEFORE clicking the Add Reply button.

Have them sign a release of liability sheet for you and it may save you some grief down the road.

Drill right into the backing plywood, and use the gemini supplied stud mounting system, and apply with silicone. Much the same way as in this video.
Make sure the studs are long enough to go into the plywood.
have them sign off knowing building is crap and it aint your problem, install the letters and go bout your way

Okay... drilling/screws it is How much would you charge for installation?? 15 letters total, about 12 feet up above the ground, relatively easy access

I wouldn't drill through to the plywood, you're asking for leaks. Drill just deep enough to get about halfway into the foam panel and using the correct length studs, use silicon to glue the letters in.
Gemini usually ships aluminum studs which are easy to cut to any length you choose.
We've done this hundreds of times without problems.
