I was approached to etch the African Plains onto a large mirror for a local contractor - hunter. I've been doing some internet surfing for a design to work with, but only find individual animals rather that a panorama of the African Plains. He has a room full of stuffed trophies, but no artwork.
Any suggestions for a full panorama design (herds around a watering hole, elephants, water buffalo, lions, rhinos, trees etc.)?
Here in Delaware, I don't see many giraffes or hippos!
Overall measurments of mirror 24" x 96"
Thanks for any leads,

Ya know, on-line just don't have EVERYthing . . . yet . . . Meanwhile, don't forget your local library. Try the travel section, or mabey even the books on animals, or wild game hunting and safari books. All of these kinds of books will have cool pictures. . . . Look in the magazine section for magazines on travel, or even the national geograhics. Try looking online for calandars. They have theme pictures for all kind of interests, so you may find one on hunting or Afican animals.

Think you could work the cost of a safari into the bid?

I am pretty sure that the BBC program Planet Earth did a show on lions hunting at the watering hole. There were all kinds of African animals standing around then running for their lives. I know they made a 5 or 6 DVD set out of the series. I would go look for it on my copy but I just lent it this week to an elderly gentleman that needs 20 to 30 hours of good programing to watch.
Maybe a little googling of Planet Earth will turn up some clips of that show.

Thanks everyone!
I've worked up the concept for the American themed mirror. To the rt Rocky Mtn rams head sheep on a ledge, Lower lf bear standing upright looking at a moose standing in a lake. To the rear, snow capped mtn, tree line, clouds and eagles flying in distance.
Been years, but I think I've seen something in Dover publication on an African Scene. Funny how you remenber things that at the time you were not interested in.
While I would love to do a photo safari, not intested in hunting.
Trip planned later this year to the Big Easy for a wedding. Couple plan on a parade down Bourbon St. He is one of the head bartenders at Pat O'Brians.
