I just got a brochure from my merchant service company (NPC),saying that I must comply with the "Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards" (PCI DSS). After 60 days they are going to begin debitting $90 annually from my account. Has your card company started doing anything like this?
I've already payed them to set my card reader up so that account numbers are no longer printed on receipts. Isn't that good enough?

call them to make sure what it is. However, Ive observed others get this notice,, who called them and the CC co. waived it..

I received the same notice a few weeks ago. It's in the "deal with later" pile.

Thanks guys I called. The rep said NPC was going to debit the money automatically unless I declined. So I got my answer; I don't have to pay it to NPC. But she made it sound like it was mandatory. We'll see.
