I have a company that is looking for display signs made like some they already have. They are made of PVC material, about 4mm thick ( around 1/8"?). They are three sided with a top and bottom (holes cut in the top and bottom also).
Two sides are bent to form the corners and the third is glued to make the triangle shape. Top and bottom added, all in dark blue pvc. Actually, my first thought when I saw them was the Cheesehead hats the fans wear at the ball games for Wisconsin.
Does anyone have a source for having these constructed? The company wants 10 of them. I rather not use the trail and erroe method on this project by doing it myself. Do not want any failures if possible with a new customer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure what cement you would use, although it seems like normal PVC cement would work. As far as bending, I've successfully done single bends in PVC material. The trick was to heat it slowly until it started to bend - applying light pressure until it moved. Make sure you have some extra material to experiment with. I would clamp it between two wide metal rulers, or something similar, to make sure the bend was straight. Bending against something thin like a ruler should also give you a tighter angle.
Mark Matyjakowski (sp?) is the pro at heated PVC if I remember. Hopefully he will see this post and tell you how it's really done. Posted by Ricky Jackson (Member # 5082) on :
I've got some triangle shaped signs to do and I'm using Outwater Plastics hinges (item #103-634). They will send you a sample if you call and ask for one - if that might work for you.

hahahaha, pro, no. I just bend up goofy one off pieces. (but thanks Russ ... good spelling too)
Were it my project I would probably have it routed as one piece with score lines to bend at and tabs to glue to ... or hire a friend who does that stuff for a living
