Not trying to start anything, but I received an e-mail this morning that I felt was worth sharing. I think most will enjoy it, and the ones that don't...Sorry.

When I moved up here to Kentucky from Texas about 5 years ago, alot of people would always ask me if I was a real Cowboy. I would alway tell them ..... "That all depended on what they considered a real Cowboy to be!" they would ask me if I drove a truck, if I had a cowboy hat, if I wore cowboy boots every day.
I always have to laugh when I get asked those questions.
A Cowboy, a Redneck........ it isnt what we were, where we are from or what we drive.
It is a way of life. Knowing that I am not the center of the world. I am here to help my fellow man (anthropos....... non-gender specific) thru whatever he might help in. Endurance, faith and Love.
Will you give yourself to Love the way Love gave Himself for you? If so, then you might just be a Redneck.
Perfectly timed post Don, thanks for sharing.

Hey Don...........I was born, bred and buttered in Vermont....about as Yankee as you can be!
We held to pretty much the same principles, so I guess it is not where you were raised...but ... by who raised you! Parental teaching and example is the deciding factor!
Just my 2¢ !

Down here in Oz we is about as "Southern" as yer can get in the world ... except for a few "mainland kiwis" on some little island off our South East Coast.
The "redneck" principals work here too
Love and respect your fellow man.

And through it all, may the Golden Rule prevail! Personally, Don I think we need a whole lot more of these kinds of rednecks. Now if we can just get God back in our government and Jesus back in our hearts. Peace, my friends.

Question: What does a redneck do when his truck breaks down?
Answer: He builds a house beside it.
Posted by Wayne Webb (Member # 1124) on :
Most of the rednecks I know, can fix the truck and drive it to the house,

At least a redneck knows how to hang on to a 9 iron.

good point Wayne. I was broke down off the highway once for 2 hours and an unmistakable redneck with missing teeth and everything fixed my van with electrical tape. I said, man...do I owe you anything? He said, well..I wouldn't mind 20 bucks. I just laughed and gave him $30.

Dawud, lol! QUOTE: "...an unmistakable redneck with missing teeth and everything..."
Hey, most the rednecks I know would'nt have took a dime . . . they just say, "No problem. What goes around, comes around." (The redneck way of saying 'karma' or 'Do unto others...')
Anyway, he must'a needed some skoal . . .

wood'n'a . . .
By the way, speaking of wood and rednecks . . . here's a lil' Thursday smile for you tooth-missing grinners . . . .
There was this ol' gal who had a wooden-eye. And I expect she was missing a tooth or two, but ANY-way, she was VERY self conscious of that eye and did'nt like anyone to stare at it, much less mention it. Well, there was this ol' boy that liked that gal and was hopin' to try to have a dance with her at the local shin-dig, but he was very, very shy because he had a peg-leg and everyone knew he limped and could'nt dance that good . . .
Well, he did'nt know how he'd ever get up the courage to ask that girl to dance, so he was just standin' in the corner hangin' his head when lo-and-behold the ol' gal came up and said,
"Hi... Would you like to dance?" And he said, "WOULD I!" And she glared and yelled, "PEG-LEG! PEG-LEG!" and stomped off.
uh . . . get it??
Posted by Bill Diaz (Member # 2549) on :
Good one, Sheila,
What she should have said was, "Not this time, Peg Leg, but if you come around some other time, I'll keep and eye out for ya."
