3D signs in general are gaining in popularity everywhere. The province of Quebec is no different with bylaws for old center towns and revitalization programs, etc...

CNC manufacturers are doing great business, new materials come out all the time like Magic epoxies, HDU's and so on. But where do one learn about all the tricks and design ideas? WORKSHOPS.

And it's a good thing, people need to share the knowledge and raise the bar for all of us in hope that we can all make a better living. That's what meets are for even if sometimes the learning process is not concentrated enough.

Of course workshops will cost you more but investment in knowledge IS an investment. A lot of firms will gladly sink 100s of 1000s of dollars into a machine that will likely be obsolete before it's paid for and yet hesitate to spend a grand to form and train the personel who will be working on it ! go figure...

I attended Dan's first workshop and Shane's in the spring and I'm going back to Dan's again because learning is the way to go !

Last couple of years have been good to me in terms of public visibility, magazine exposure and articles, and several awards in the last little while and because of that I'm getting calls that I should give a 3D seminar in French for the Quebec market. So it is going to happen, not that teaching has ever been in my career plans except by training staff, but I've been to a few and think I can do this...

So here it is, I call it "Dimension - 101" and it covers everything from CNC technology, EnRoute-4 3D design, sign design in general, faux-finishing, Magic Sculpt & Smooth and of course hands-on real project... and all of it EN FRANÇAIS !!!



So all you French speaking visitors and lurkers, if you whish to learn more about this kind of signage, start planning for next November 14-15-16 in the Montreal reagion ( Laval ) to be exact.

Now Montreal region is within my available traveling budget. I guess I might have to start studying french though....we. I met you in Florida and I believe this would be a good workshop (if I spoke French)

wow, look at all the french responses, better hire an interpreter, although french might be as easy to understand as all the geek speak, eh!

for some reason, I studied french for five years, at high school. I think I've forgotten 98% of it though!
I did spend a day in Paris (France)in 1983, but everyone I spoke to there, spoke english...

Ian, that reminds me of something that happened to me in Mexico. When I travel there, on about the third day, my mind "switches" and everything is in Spanish-I think in Spanish, I dream in Spanish, my whole mental world is Spanish.

Once, we were sitting in a restaurant in Creel, which is up in the mountains near Copper Canyon. I overheard a conversation at the next table and absolutely understood every word. As I was thinking, "Wow! I'm really getting good at this Spanish", it dawned on me that the couple over there were conversing in English.

yeah well speaking of exhausting your French.... Heather keeps complaining about that too !!! Have you guys talked at all ???

Kiwi is the slang term for a New Zealander. It's also the native bird (a protected and endangered species). You would get arrested if you were caught eating one

The native inhabitants in NZ were Maori (pronounce Mow-ree) they have their own native language, it's really beautiful...love is aroha(ah-ro-hah), kiora(key-or-rah) = hello, child = tamariki(tam-a-ree-key) and family is whanau(far-no)

Hmmmm, I'm a kiwi bird too come to think of it

One can never be sure who Heather's been speaking to. It could have been me

BTW I'm also fluent in very bad english And I can say, Comment sont vous? in very bad French !!
