I have about 8 old drives, some crashed and burned, some working, some barely working. I've been slaving them to one of my systems and copying all my "stuff" off them to save it. I've got one that is password protected and I can't remember, for the life of me, what the password was. It's mine and it's several years old. There may or may not be anything of value on it but I'd like to see anyway. Is there any way to get past the password? Help us Uncle Krusty, you're our only hope. [Smile]

About a year ago, my older son discovered he could get past his school's password protection by starting up in safe mode. Maybe you could try starting in safe mode, go straight to DOS, then see if you recognize anything you want to keep.

I'm sure I'll hear a bunch of B$ over this.... but I know someone's drive that went to crap, and they took it to the Geek Squad at Best Buy and they were able to quickly and cheaply recover the contents.

Don't think that the drive was pswd protected, but I'm sure computer geeks can easily circumvent that obstacle.

Hope that helps somewhat.... and good luck with the drive Ricky.

yes you may get it back.
But is the admin password for opening windows? If so Then there is a way. I do it all the time.

If its for viewing the drive then you are goona suffer a little.

I have some passwords in mind for opening windows that I used to use (if I can remember them). I'll give anything a shot.

Try mousepad or key fob, it's probably one of those.

Check the sticky note on the front of your monitor... either that, or the one under your keyboard.

I'm thinking your password has something to do with men in drag & Jake Snow but I could be wrong.

I'm glad women don't to have passwords to us men. They would have us "umplugged" for sure.
