I am looking for a substrate that is flexible that can be attached with velcro. This is for my city & county commissioners names. The present name plates are thin polystrene in a rigid holder. They use the same meeting room and just change the name plates out. I was thinking of using thin PVC foam panel and applying white vinyl letters to it, but so far I can't find this material in burgundy. I will need to change the names out after each election so I am thinking that applying vinyl letters will be easy to change rather than an engraved sign. Got an ideas? Thanks, Judy

well, you could certainly use the PVC and then either paint it burgundy, or cover it with burgundy vinyl. if you use a paint mask, or reverse weed the lettering from the burgundy vinyl, then the background color (white or black?) becomes the letter color. some of the PVC stuff comes smooth (SintraFace) and some has a texture (regular Sintra), so you might consider how smooth you want the final product.
also, you could also use thin (1/16") clear acrylic (inexpensive) or polycarbonate (much more durable), and apply the graphics 2nd-surface.
go upscale, and get some oak veneer (or other nice wood), use a burgundy tinted stain, varish it, and then apply your lettering.
all of those materials could accept self-adhesive hook/loop fastener material.

Sintra comes in 1mm and 2mm thicknesses also. We use it all the time for this exact purpose.

These are sliders we make for a myriad of applications....... Room IDs, name changers, whutevah....
Substrate can be acrylic with wood/masonite overlam or anything you want. This one happens to be tactile copy with braille. P
Should have mentioned that the slider and receiveing edges are a 45 degree to hold in place. They're made to fit tight.

Judy, they make a gloss white, semi-rigid, 10-mil, PVC material for edge-printing. I'd just print the burgundy on it, leaving the letters white.

Thanks for your replies. Scooter I had thought about reverse weeding the lettering from the burgundy vinyl. Perhaps this is the easier solution and it won't be too expensive.I am considering the polycarbonite too. Kissy, if I had an Edge, that would be a great solution. Thanks Pierre for the illustration.
