Good luck, Caleb! Ben did 9 months in Germany and liked it just fine over there. We missed him but there were many WORSE places he could have gone to so we thought Germany was just fine! He got to see Spain too. Travel when you have leave days and see the world!!!

Hard to believe its the same kid Mikey would make sit on the pop case in the back of the van cause there were no seats. And haul him to Letterhead meets, sliding around the back when Mikey would take the corners too fast. Good luck, Caleb. The Colonel

I have sat on that milk crate too! Hey, Caleb, good luck, Godspeed, be safe. In these times, it takes a lot of courage to enlist. Think of the world tour as a fringe benefit! Love....jill

Good Luck to you Caleb. It will be okay Mike and Ayleen. He is becoming his own man. He has good roots and he won't forget it. Now there is always a reason to go to Germany.

I have a pic of Caleb from 2000, sitting on a cannon in front of Stirling Castle in Scotland...somehow we knew he'd be in the artillery one day.

Caleb, good luck and God Bless; you have a lot of folks back home thinking of you and your army buddies as you venture to a foreign country. I hear the Black Forest is wonderful; this time you may be going without your parents, but, you'll always have them (and us) having your back. This is one of the places I would like to visit if I ever went to Germany: Maybe you will see it too while you're over there. http://www.funonthenet.in/content/view/223/31/
Take care of yourself, Caleb; hurry back.

Thanks to everyone! A BIG THANKS! We will have no address eyt, but will post it when he gets to his unit...The more time's he's home on leave, the easier it gets for us parents to adjust. It's still a tear jerker when he walks down the ramp at the airport...makes it even sweeter when he walks back thru it to be home! He's matured alot and seems to enjoy it. I was stationed in Germany in 1983-84 and had the time of my life!!!
I will be going back over there as much as I can!
It's nice to know he can always stay with Letterheads overseas as well, like our German friends,...Manfred and Marcus, Trixi, Stephan....as well as other countries!
Hey, this post isn't about SIGNS, come on! This was as trick!!
Sincerly Ayleen and I thank you!

Hey I talked about Letterhead Meets and your truck! It was a sign truck everything is about signs if you look at it.
Posted by Harris Kohen (Member # 2139) on :
Thank You Caleb.
BTW I see plenty of signs in this post. Signs of courage Signs of duty Signs of respect Signs of family Signs of freedom
What more could you want in signs?
Oh yeah I forgot, the love of the craft.

Caleb called me from Germany, he made it just fine, he's a little bored, but hey, you're the "new Man"...while in-processing he was told his unit is deploying to IRAQ in August.! We kinda figured at some point he would probably have to serve there. We were not shocked, it puts a real different approach on things!!
I will stay on the positive side and he'll do just fine! I told him to live it up in GERMANY til August!!!! Thanks for all your support, it means alot to us!!!!I guess he'll do some real growing up in a hurry! I bought him a digital camera and I am waiting for his new address to send it to him...H'ell get 18 days leave in July before he has to deploy so it looks like he can stop up to the Minneapolis Wall Dog meet and say HI!
As Pierre would say.."Life is good!" Life gives you Lemons, you make Lemonade!

DonŽt worry Mike, German people are friendly, we have good food and beer and not to forget the chicks!!! I hope you showed him how we order 5 beers in Germany!!! Let me know if he like to visit us, weŽre just 3-4 hours far away. Maybe he wants to visit the second home of his father: "BAVARIA" IŽam sure he will enjoy the time in Germany.
Best wishes from good old Germany.
