Never one to pleasure in passing on bad news, I'm tasked again w/duty of disclosure....it was reported today that long time racer and race car builder "Lil" John Buttera died of cancer, he was 67........

Lil was highly thought of in his industry for his vision and work ethics...a normal day for him was 14-18 hours and from his shop came some of the greatest automotive achievements in the last 50 yrs...he was involved in all aspects of motorsports, his ideas and workmanship were legendary, his ideas spawned the likes of Coddington(recently deceased as well), his most rememorible idea was to use cast billet aluminum for parts, spawning the billet craze that's still going full steam....to list his accomplishments here would take more time than I have and more broadband than's available, suffice to say, we lost a great car person w/his death and for one, I'll miss him greatly....it was his personal Blazer that started 2wd Blazer movement in this country.....up to that point, no one used a 2wd Blazer for a street ride, he soon changed that and many, myself included, followed suit shortly thereafter and in my regard, still messing w/lowered Blazers........thanks John......

Go w/God Lil, we'll miss not having you around, save a spot for us at the great drive-in in the sky........ [Cool]
