Hey everyone, We’re doing a new image overhaul here at Diaz Sign Art. We’ve been using the same logo since 1998. It’s almost given us a 10 year run, but we have all agreed that it’s time for a change. So now we’re making the switch… Little by little we are switching logos. Our estimates, work orders, invoice… all the easy stuff has already been switched over. Biz cards, brochures and promotional stuff are next, Then the vehicle(s), Then all the signs. We’ve never really had the best business cards… We just printed them off on our desktop printer. And we have never had trifold brochures to hand out either. We’ve never really needed to rely on such forms of advertising. But it seemed kind of hypocritical to preach to our customers about the importance of advertising and then try to sell them business cards, brochures, stationeries and letterheads, when our own identity was lacking. And on top of that we have a few trade shows scheduled that we want to be prepared for.
So to my question, Where is a good place to have business cards with fillet corners produced? We have used Vista Print in the past. But they don’t seem to offer a rounded corners option.
Can any one help?
Edit to add: crap, I didn't mean to post this in the portfolio section. Not sure if Steve or Barb can move it for me.

grprint.com does rounded corners.
You need to setup an account to see prices because they're for the trade only but 1000 biz cards on 14pt stock full color both sides and UV coating both sides, rounded corners - $29.00. The same cards with regular square corners are $19.00.
They also have the silk laminates and print every other form of printable on the planet.
They also have good prices on indoor/tradeshow banners.

a search here would yield a lot of place, 4over.com being one of them but they are slow, yes they are 10$ cheaper but to me its not worth an extra 5 days. postcard press is nice but i have seen no diff in quality between them and overnight to warrant the extra $35 for 1000 my cost

I use overnightprints for business cards, postcards, and tri-fold flyers. Good pricing, quick turnaround, online proof, and good quality products.

we use printrunner.com. They do alot of different types of printing. I like the quality of the coatings. We get alot of orders for 4 x 9 rack cards and they also look good.

I like dealing with local companies, especially if color is an issue....The best place to start locally is the local AIGA....
Dont use www.zooprinting.com. I just placed an order with them and now it has to be re-done. The cards were cut off center and very pixelated.

overnight prints has done me fine. I have tried others and they cut them wrong or the colors does not come out ok. 4over was cool but they didnt offer the thicker cards at the time. I didn't like that.

I use Carlson Craft. If you become a dealer, their prices are significantly better than other services.

I recently ordered fold over cards from 4Over Inc. because they had the best price on them. The quality of the business cards was great. I just had problems printing the right red on these. Is there any inexpensive way to calibrate colors for printing? I got a PDF proof but that did not help. Any suggestions? Thanks, Judy

Thanks for the information guys. Looks like I got a lot of companies to choose from.
We just finished the design for our brochures, so now I have to the pick the right company that can handle the rounded corner thing and also do our brochures. Would any of you have a recommendation for 3fold brochures? I’ve ordered from different companies before and my main concern is the folds not lining up where they need to.
Rick, I like going local too. But in this case we are advertising that we provide some of the services that they do… like business card design, brochure design… and so on. So I feel like if I send material to them with that info written on it they could take it the wrong way. And… I’m not going to feel too bad about not trying to help out a local biz (on this occasion) because they are starting to offering things in our line of work, like magnetics, banners and other signs.
Thanks again guys!

I agree that gotprint.com has some of the best prices and quality...but you do have to watch them.
I had an order for a company with (4) people. They wanted a smaller quantity, so they went for 250 cards each. I ordered them all at the same time, and the shipping on the order was $45. I called the company and they told me that it was considered (4) different orders, and they would be shipped individually, thus the shipping charge on each set.
I asked if all the orders could be boxed, then placed in a larger box, they replied that they didn't do that because each order was separate.
Yet when they showed up at the door, the boxes were taped together and it has one shipping label.
Gotprint also does brochures, and you can order them folded. I will say that I don't know the quality of them, since I have yet to order any.

4over seems to be the industry standard. They're quick, great quality, and do trade printing ONLY.

Joe -
We use PSPrint for most of our collateral printing.

Mark, that is exactly one of the reasons I stopped using GotPrint.com. Another reason is they messed up the colors on one of my orders (the front and back were supposed to be the same color and when they arrived they were different). GotPrint tried to say it was a problem with my files. But amazingly, they reprinted them correctly. After that I stopped using them.
I switched to PartnerPrinting.com and haven't looked back since!

I strongly recommend getting a Pantone "Solid to Process" chart. Go by the numbers, not necessarily what you see on the screen.
I have my monitors calibrated but I still go by the numbers.

After our last experience with Vista Print I would never use them again.
Vista Print had made some buiness cards for us in the past with no problems but this last time we used them they signed us up for there rewards program without our knowledge and our reward was having out credit card charged $14.95 a month for the past few months until we caught the problem.
Our account person had seen the charge but thought we had purchased more business cards.
Our credit card company cancelled the card and then gave us a refund and is going after Vista Print.
Before you order anything from company please do a google search using Vista Print Scam and read for yourself about the thousands of other customers who were also taken in by this scam company from around the world.
