I have been using One Shot Fluoro for years and years. Good stuff, but now at $37 a quart, I wonder if there are any alternatives.

Does anyone know of a water based fluoro? Does anyone know of less expensive oil based which are as good as One Shot?

Hey Presto! Welcome back!

DayGlo and Radiant both make a water resistant fluoro paint. They can be made waterproof with a topcoat of any acrylic clear.

preston try Hamilton marine

www.hamiltonmarine.com

they have it at $64.99 / GALLON or
$21.99 / QUART

I get it by the gallon because I go through so much of it. It lasts longer than one shot also. After shipping it ends up being about $76 but still cheaper than $37 a qt. and less expensive than sign suppliers.

I use Aquacote. It is "waterproof", yeah it's pricey but you do get some mileage out of it and is waterbased and has a nice intensity.

I also use Day Glo temperas, if I need an acrylic they sell it at McLogans here in california. Try the SCR series. I have also gone to their oil based products for windshields and such. For years I used Ronan's version, but their prices have also gone through the roof.
