Hi everyone. Well I got the Imac in January & I still haven't bought windows. I've been stalling to see if they "fix" Vista, but eveyone keeps telling me to get XP. Ok so I'm gonna get XP. My question is, which version of XP do you imac / windows users recommend?
Thanks Felix

XP pro on imac using parallels software--- but after a few weeks you will probably find that you will use it less and less. I've used it maybe a half a dozen times in the last 3 or 4 months.
I only use it for Corel X3 (when I can't get illustrator to do what I need it to.) Everything else, Mac OS stuff

I have XP Pro on my iMac using parallels, but I usually use the PC that sits right next to it.

Is "Boot Camp" the parallel program? I'm needing a new computer and am seriously considering an iMac. My only hold up is I need to run Corel X3, Quickbooks and my plotter software on XP.
Any info. greatly appreciated!

Micro$oft is now helping disgruntled Vista users go back to XP:
Amy, Boot Camp is a Mac app that allows you to reboot to Windows but not at the same time you're running OS X. Parallels allows you to run them simultaneously. I am running my PosterJet RIP through Parallels/Windows XP Pro. Once I got a few connection issues dealt with it's been quite stable. I've had it running for weeks at a time, only restarting the 266 MacPro quad or Parallels for system updates.
It's still windows and it's still clumsy an ugly though. . . in spite of what Doug will say.
