I just had a thought about a way to have people be involved with a Letterhead Meet and they don't have to go anywhere.....
The Meet comes to YOU.
I would be the meet. You will have a regulated time, to..
A. Show me your shop You get 15 minutes...I will have a timer with a bell.. B. We take photos of me in front of your shop to prove I was there. C. I will have a panel that I will work on at your shop, then take it to the next shop until I finally bring it back to my shop. You and I will add to it as we see fit. D. I will have a sign-in board, you will have a close-up picture of yourself, your shop,a short bio, and history of yourself and your shop. (I will forward this to the Butler's who are working on a Letterhead "Directory" I will send pictures to be posted on my journey.
If we can share a lunch together or a cool or hot drink at a local establishment that you think would be a Unique addition to the trip, or if you have a favorite dish you make and are proud of..Great! Let's taste it!
I am unsure of how the EXACT route will go, but I have to go back to Suwanee to see Sonny's and Bob and collect my Trailer that I left in Georgia for the Dixie Meet!
In the past, various Letterheads have offered their homes to stop and visit and have a bite or a night over....I am forever in your debt and remember, my home/shop is your home/shop..please stop in anytime!!!
If you are a person that would like me to stop in..please respond here and let's get a route planned and see what we can do for those "Shut-in" Letterheads!!!
This was with Cam in Boston.
This was visiting Timi at "The Rock" in Rockinham North Kack-a-lacki
This beauty was spotted somewhere in Illinoiz! It even has Neon!!

You're more than welcome to show up here Mike. Target Ottawa on your travel plans and we can visit Doug Bernhardt's shop too. Nancy and Noella are not too far either, so is Rodger McMunn and Lorraine Lamb Lalonde. We'll talk hockey, share a few beers, do a pannel or two, talk hockey, visit this beautifull region..... and talk hockey !!
From here, you go east, visit Pierre in Québec city and then to Moncton... see ??? that would work !!!

Well, you KNOW you are welcome here! And this time, PLEASE sleep at our house and not at the ball park! The police are still talking about that van! hehehehe I love to cook! Do you have a favorite? Bill does an awesome ceasar salad or great omelets. That's pretty much it for him cooking... We'd love to have letterheads over, anytime you are in the area.

Posted by Mike Faig (Member # 6104) on :
You're welcome here any time. Many things to do and see. Just depends on the day. Fly fishing, hiking, river tubing(if we get some rain), sabotage Jake's shop just to name a few.
So plan a leg through the Smokies, we'd love to have you over.
Posted by mike meyer (Member # 542) on :
OK Mike, can we listen to WDVX?
Posted by Mike Faig (Member # 6104) on :
Yep.
Posted by Deri Russell (Member # 119) on :
Well if you get up to the great white North instead of heading East from Quebec (Rene and Pierre's area)you could head West Mike. We live on the penninsula between Georgian Bay and Lake Huron. Within an hour or hour and a half of here there is Steve & Barb Shortreed, Pete & Marj Payne, Doug Downey, Bevin Findlay, Pat McKillop, ..........I could go on and on. We could all get together here and BBQ up a storm!
Posted by Rene Giroux (Member # 4980) on :
See what you got yourself into ?
...and with the price of gas!
I'll try to help... you pay for gas, I'll pay for beer !
Posted by Raymond Chapman (Member # 361) on :
Sure, stop in on your way through Texas. I have some post holes that you can demonstrate how to dig. I'll even take a photo of you working on them for your travel log and post them here.
Why, I'll just bet that there are several home bound Letterheads in the area that would appreciate an expert to help them dig some holes and pass on some PHD wisdom.
Say, how about a video. You dig the holes and I'll run the camera. You could autograph each DVD personally. Probably make a mint. Just think - you could be rich. Of course, you would have to pay me some up front money, but a few thousand would cover the deposit and then just 50% of the gross sales would be plenty for me.
I've got your best interest at heart and really want to see you succeed, especially since you are doing so much to bring the Letterhead movement to those less fortunate individuals.
Posted by mike meyer (Member # 542) on :
hahaha Thnaks Deri, I will do that someday..I will!
Mr. Chapman is either on TO something or ON something!! I have been very fond of my own Post Hole Diggers as a matter of fact Raymond...I had wonderful experiences in Texas in my life....Ft. Sam Houston San Antonio in the Army...we used to go to Cannon Lake, and New Branfels to the "Wurst Fest" ....Hondo, Seguin, China Grove, I loved it very much!
My Dad was stationed at Fort Hood, which is very near you isn't it Raymond? My son may be stationed at Hood, we are not sure yet. I'd love to go back thru Texas again! I was even in Luckenbach!in the "hill Country!"
Keep the interest coming folks, I'll get to you soone ror later, hell, I've been to the Taj Mahal why not Killeen Texas? (Was that a proper comparision?)
Still breathing and still painting, will travel!

Hey Mike
You know how they say..."You can't get there from here"!
Well I'll tell ya just how to get to may place from Mazeppa. You head east until you see a bunch of big buildings on an island. Stop there and get yourself a nice Gray's Papaya Hot Dog there on Broadway, can't miss it! From there drive north until you get to Cam's place. Better stop there and see them...mighty nice folks! From There you drive north until you get to Karyn Bush's place, take a left.... Head from the White Mountains over the hills to the Green Mountians.... Just ahead you'll see a Ben and Jerry's Ice cream factory, stop there and get yourself a nice "Banana's on the Rum" waffle cone and then head west...yes I said west..... Down the road a piece you'll run into a nice little pond they call Lake Champlain. Here you'll have to board the ferry that takes you across the lake over to the Adirondack's. Somewhere in the middle of the lake, you should see a sea (lake) monster named "Champy". Champy will give you directions down to my place and will call to let me know I need to start the flapjacks.
Now which maple syrup do you prefer, Grade Fancy, "A" Medium, "A" Dark, or "B" Dark ???
See ya there buddy!

When you head to Texas, just stop through here. I'll take you to see the huge windmills, the Astronaut Thomas P. Stafford Air and Space Museum and maybe some ribs at Willie's!
We might even have the new shop in progress by that time and you can help hang sheetrock or something.
Posted by Gregg Parkes (Member # 7710) on :
Well Mike, I don't know where this will take you, but the Harbour Bridge and Opera House are great sights in summer. A man of your talent is always welcome. Mebe catch "the Fish Wagon"

Posted by Bob Rochon (Member # 30) on :

Posted by Chris Shuster (Member # 7307) on :
Hey Mike, you can definately put us on your List. Winchester, KY is a perfect candidate for a future Walldog meet - which I was hoping you could be a big part of. The architecture is from the early and late 1800s, Main Str is picture perfect. The people here don't get any friendlier either. My Shop is right next to the Old Court House. Oh...and my wife is a great cook. It's a great place to stop either way, beautiful country side with rolling hills dotted with cows and thoroughbred horses and picture perfect farms...are you tempted yet?
Posted by Donald Thompson (Member # 3726) on :
It would be a pleasure to spend some time together Mike. When I was at your place it was crazy because you were the host. When you came here it was crazy because I was the host. It would be great just to get hang out for a while or a few days. You always have a place to stay.
Posted by Raymond Chapman (Member # 361) on :
Well Mike, you've got food and lodging. Now, if you can figure out how to get folks to buy your gas you've got it made.

I'm right down the road from Bob, I can help you load the plotter, then you can stop at my place. Then we could all shoot up to Salem and paint Kens wall. I think there is a famous stake house in Salem Ken can treat!
Posted by mike meyer (Member # 542) on :
sounds good Dana..Raymond, how about if I got an Ethnol sponsor or figger out how to make my van run on Vynull excess, wax paper backing, transfer tape balls....(Years ago this would have been how to run a car on old thinner, times have changed)
We'll see how it all works out...
Posted by Nancie W. Phillips (Member # 3484) on :
You're welcome here too. I'm right around the corner from B-Bob's place too (maybe 10 or so miles). D'ya know when you might be headin' down this'a way? Maybe I could take you to Jimmy Chatham's and Dusty Campbells for a visit. What's your favorite kinda food? We'll talk more in Algoma...
Posted by Rick Sacks (Member # 379) on :
Mike, you're certainly welcome at our place. Last time I heard you made it as close as Percell's I was disappointed to have not met you.
Posted by mike meyer (Member # 542) on :
Rick, would you belive we drove thru Mendocino back in 2003? It was late at night and Foggy, foggier than Old Paint after a Steelers game.
Next time we will call you...we drove on and stayed in some small town at a ma and pa hotel.
It was either before or after Eureka. Next time OK?
Posted by Roy Frisby (Member # 736) on :
Mike, The door is always open in El Dorado. Stop in on your way down to Raymond's and I will let you have some ready-made post holes to take with you. That way you can have your picture made installing them in Texas without all that strenuous digging in the rocky Texas ground.
Posted by Bobbie Rochow (Member # 3341) on :
I am 1 1/2 hours Northwest of Jilly's place, if you are out this way Mike. You are certainly welcome to come my way ( I would be deeply honored ), but I am so small in my barn loft, it may disappoint you!
Posted by Felix Marcano (Member # 1833) on :
Hey don't forget to bring the trailer down here!
Posted by Kelsey Dum (Member # 6101) on :
My "shop" is not that impressive, but I would love to paint with you again. Maybe you can show this young letterhead a thing or two. I can offer free room and board and some of the best country style pork ribs you've ever had. If you wanted, we could also make a quick trip to Hot Springs or Eureka Springs where there is a lot of cool old signage to look at.
If you time it right you can catch one of our really cool car shows at the River Market.
P.S. I'm in Little Rock, AR now.

Mike, you are certainly welcome to visit Lee and I in Lincoln, Nebraska...a nice stopping off point between Minnesota and Texas and only a quick 6 hours to OKlahoma City which we discovered this spring when we went to Fred's meet. Always good food and drink around if we have anything to do with it, but I'm not big on discussing Husker football.
