Donna started this a few years ago and it was fun....She "borrowed" this game from another board, and thought she would start it here!! The concept is to play the nosey neighbor, or sign competitor, or what have you. Each person answers the question the poster above them asked and asks their own question.
What's the funniest sign you have ever seen?

"Scoopy Poo" dog waste removal- a sign on a truck driving down the interstate, I thought it was pretty clever!
We have a new one in town-- "Judy's Bait Shoppe" thought the spelling really classed it up!
What's the strangest sign you have ever seen?
Posted by Ray Rheaume (Member # 3794) on :
There's a bunch of kids here in town who go completely nuts lettering the same van every year with spray cans. They always do some sort of satirical design directed at a political issue or person and run it for only one day...in the annual 4th of July parade downtown. It's probably got 18 layers of paint on it, has more dents than a race car after a full season and is, by far, a horrid display of the fugliest graphics on the planet, but the guys all get into character and everyone looks forward to seeing it every year.
What color was the last can of paint you opened?
Rapid
Posted by Jon Butterworth (Member # 227) on :
Clear!
Seriously, I just opened a can of matt clear acrylic to paint a sample "ghost" logo on a wall.
Got 40 of them to do in green and red ... to get the ghost effect I'm using clear with a few drops of colour so the logos will almost be transparent.
Question: What's you favourite color?
Posted by Donna in BC (Member # 130) on :
No easy answer.
Black & white for designing stuff. Full color crazy for funky stuff. Toned down colors for the serious stuff. Gold leaf on the right stuff. White for stripes on firetruck stuff. Stainless steel for kitchen stuff...

What's your favorite vegetable?
Posted by Jon Butterworth (Member # 227) on :
Tomato! "Love apple"
I have a large glass TJ every lunchtime. I love them with everything. Even Tomato Sauce (ketchup)
Think it's a throwback when I had an allergy when I was a kid and they took me off tomatoes because that's what they thought it was .... turned out to be very acidic apples!
What's wrong with Cauliflowers anyway ... ever tried Cauliflowers in white cheese sauce!

Yes! Love cauliflowers in white cheese sauce. Could have just this for an entire meal.
What was most on your mind yesterday?

What's next on your list of things to do?
Posted by Talisman (Member # 1869) on :
400 hour service on my kubota tractor. Really!
I have put coins inside some of my dimensional signs. I have also signed and dated some. Why? I dont know.
Have you ever put anything on, in or around a sign you did that didn't really need to be there?
Posted by Jillbeans (Member # 1912) on :
I personally have not, but a friend who is a striper once painted a penis inside the lines of a PITA client's vehicle. If I like a sign, I put my "bug" on it.
How many Letterhead meets have you attended?

Do you do fine art?
Posted by Nancie W. Phillips (Member # 3484) on :
Yes, I do. It's kinda like coming full circle. From my earliest memories I told folks who asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up that I was gonna be "an artist". What did you want to be when you were a child?
Posted by Sue Brown (Member # 6677) on :
That question brought up one of those really funny childhood memories.. When i was about 9 we were watching jackie gleason show.. and I informed my family.. i wanted to be a june taylor dancer.. My Brother who was 3 years older than me.. was very offended by this.. as he thought they were quite racey i guess..and informed me that NO Sister of his was gonna be a hoochie goochie girl lol.. So needless to say.. I never tried lol...
Ok.. next question... What is the oddest request for a sign that you have ever gotten from a customer..

What was your favorite car that you got rid of?
Posted by Mike Pipes (Member # 1573) on :
A 1975 Camaro, my first car!
That thing was such a beater it was fun just running into stuff with it. There was one road in town that raised up a bit to a driveway then dropped off immediately on the other side. My buddies and I would take that Camaro over there and launch that sucka right off the pavement, bottoming the car out and throwing sparks everywhere. We tore it UP!
Where, if anywhere, are you traveling for Memorial Day weekend?
Posted by Deri Russell (Member # 119) on :
Ours was last weekend. But we stayed home and had friends in Friday night. Then different friends Saturday, more on Sunday. So I ran away Monday, out to the woods and transplanted woodland flowers back to my place.
My turn for a question. Ha-Who is Bill's Exxon?

Are you procrastinating jobs that you don't like to do?
Posted by Dusty Campbell (Member # 4601) on :
Yes, really jobs that are just labor intensive or otherwise problematic.
What is the hardest job you've done?(Or the job you had to learn the most to do.)
Posted by Jane Diaz (Member # 595) on :
I had to do a portrait of a little boy who died. When I took the job, I knew it would be difficult, but every time I would try to work on it, I would look at those gorgeous little eyes and that sweet face... I just couldn't work on it for too long at a time. That little face really haunted me. Those portraits are very rewarding (feel good inside) to do because they mean SO much to the people I am doing them for, but they are tough for me to get out of my mind at night when I look at them all day!
On a lighter note...What's the funniest sign story you have heard one of the "old timers" tell?
Posted by Nevman (Member # 332) on :
Maybe not so funny...but...
Another local shop with whom I was friendly told me this story about when he owned a large billboard company in Texas.
Seems they went out to install a new sign waaaay out of town - miles away from anywhere. They were just setting up when their boom truck backed up into an electrical line pole, knocking the wire down. The wire didn't break but the tension from that line falling started a chain reaction and they watched in horror as the line kept snapping off of the poles as it went along - in both directions!
Needless to say, he packed things up, drove back to town like nothing happened. He told me that the line was down for about 2 miles in the direction toward town - he had no idea how far it was down the other way.
He never got caught.
How long have you been in the sign business?

Found myself as they say, and haven't had any regrets. The sign business has been good to me and I hope that I have been good to it. Will I ever retire? When some one looks down at me and says, "Don't he look natural?" How did you get started in the sign business and when will you hang up the brush? Best to all. Don

Next question: where do you see your business in 10 years' time?
Posted by Jon Butterworth (Member # 227) on :
In 10 years I will be fully retired!
At 62 now, and comfortable, I'm winding down and starting to enjoy the fruits of my labours. I don't really plan to fully retire until I can't hold a brush.
Ask me same question 10 years ago and I would reply. Look at what I am doing best and try to do it better. Provide quality and service. I did that and got to where I hoped to be today.
In this age, technology changes so quick it is impossible to predict where it will be at in 10 years nowdays. I think you have two choices: (A) Invest in the technology (B) Invest in the craft. One takes money, the other takes time. If you got both and use them wisely you will reap both the money and time to spend it!

That led to losing my business partner (losing him was great... getting screwed doing it wasn't so great but I am not dealing with WNY and that is great) which led to moving to Minnesota (I wasn't born here but I got here as fast as I could).

I just love laying out and lettering "Q"'s. There are so many cool things that one can do with them.

What's the worst hardware purchase you ever got for your shop?
Posted by Ian Stewart-Koster (Member # 3500) on :
A Ryobi 7 inch circular saw, after the old small 20 yr old Makita one burnt out. That ryobi is the biggest bit of good-looking junk I ever regretted touching, except for a Ryobi air blaster which broke down a week out of warranty, and was barely used.
Otherwise, I'd say I haven't regretted any hardware purchases.
How many gallons of thinners do you go through per year?
Posted by Ian Stewart-Koster (Member # 3500) on :
P.S. I'd better qualify that- it won't cut a 90 degree edge when set to do so- the guides wobble several degrees either way when tight, and the blade protector/cover jams against timber, rather than sliding back as you cut into something, and it's worse at 45 degree angles-it pushes you off course, and makes it hard to start any cut on the line you intended.
But it looks so nice & new, that I haven't a heart to throw it out!
Posted by Nancie W. Phillips (Member # 3484) on :
Not much at all, Ian...if you are refering to solvents. I work in water based mediums mostly. I probably haven't used more than a gallon of thinner this year.

While we on the subject of LETTERHEAD MEETS ( Joey ... hydroponics don't qualify!) ... what was your most "Memorable Meet" to date and why?
Posted by Ian Stewart-Koster (Member # 3500) on :
Probably the Hervey Bay meet that Darren Watkins hosted in 1999. I'd wanted to go to Jindabyne in 97 & Loxton in 98, but couldn't go & leave Joan with a freshly young family & a farm full of animals needing feeding etc, and no vehicle, so when it came to Qld, I was not going to miss it- so close to home!
Why was it good- well, Glenda Beatty & I went. We met Darren, Gail & Devo (yeah, I thought Devo & Darren were business partners or brothers or something then, too...!), Rob Clarke, Dan Seddon, Ticks, big Kev Browne, Rick & Ros & Gemma Hayman (who turns 21 this weekend), Brian Petty, Simon Reich, Dave Drane, John Rigby and stacks of others I'd heard about, plus a couple of Yankee fellows, and I can't remember who else...but it was a great influence on me- workshops, things happening, talent, games, really nice friendly people...and I decided I'd try & not miss any more, no matter what, and that one day when I'd get to host a meet, it would be something like that time!
All other meets come close, but that first one was the most memorable & influential to me!
edited to add I forgot a question...so I'll repeat Jon's question instead:
When, where & why was your most memorable letterheads (not hydroponic!) meet?

YES!
In my later years I have realised my thirst for knowledge is back to my childhood days. Probably 10 times as much. National Geograhic and Letterhead Meets are top of my list!
Gone is the middle age "I know it all" attitude.
I love learning. Even better, I love passing on what I have learned ... it is never "Gospel" but just a touch of my experience.

Sorry, American Sit-coms are something I prefer to wash the dinner dishes than suffer watching.
Only exception is the current re-runs of "MASH" Is that because the humour is off beat and more unpredictable?
But, please what IS the difference between Maryann and Ginger?
Posted by Ian Stewart-Koster (Member # 3500) on :
Maryanne is/was a down-to-earth country-charm honest naive good-looking fresh-faced brunette, who always wore a 'gingham?' dress.
Ginger was a redheaded Hollywood moviestar stereotype with a bit of an attitude to various things, or avoiding them, and not much of a practical brain. Some thought she had good looks.
Lovey Howell was a bit more elderley, married to a millionaire, or so we were told, and pretty useless at most stuff nedeed for survival on a deserted island.
Perhaps others will chip in with their interpretation of the differences!
Jon, modern American sitcoms, I don't watch either. Gilligan's Island was from a different era from some of the rubbish of the last 15+ years. We used to watch it to avoid doing the dishes!!!

Rick, what's he doing in the forest talking to himself...or is he perhaps speaking on a mobile phone to his wife...?
That's not meant to be a question...but no one's answered Steve's alien question, which brings up something interesting I read once, the gist of which was that if aliens exist, then: are we sure they would have the SAME altruistic attitudes as us, would they be of greater intelligence than us, would they see us as livestock to be harvested, or as a threat to be nuked, or could they be less intelligent than us, or could we trust them to treat us as 'kindly' as they might appear to do so on the first visit, always, or might it be a con, to enslave us? We only tend to think of them in terms of what WE know.
We also tend to presume they'll be able to communicate with us, in something akin to our english language, or have similar thought processes, but they may not, and they may not understand sign language either.
This brings up a story I once heard about early english explorers in Australia. One picked up a stick, and pointed to a kangaroo, and an aboriginie said 'kangaroo' so they duly noted that this animal's name was pronounced 'kanga-rou'. Later they pointed to a koala, and the reply was 'kangaroo'. What the???. 'Kangaroo' turned out to be the word for 'stick' with which the explorer was using to point... so it's all relative.
That story way be wrong, but the theme has it's moral anyway- mistunderstandings can be plentiful when trying to communicate across cultures.
And then there's another 'Alien' from up in space whom we all hope to meet one day.
Question: what's the shortest question you can think of?
Posted by Jon Butterworth (Member # 227) on :
IF?
Then
WHY?
Posted by Joey Madden (Member # 1192) on :
The answer should be,,,,,,,,,,,,, because

Dana, you may be in the wrong thread...? If that's a question- there's no winning, it's just an amusing social pastime, that's all!
Joey, as for doing something totally different- it happens frequently, or as frequently as we can manage- delving into screen printing a few years ago was a new fork in the road, which has paid off. Dabbling in web design for others is growing- (just don't look at our own website- it's a disasterously poor sample), deciding to increase the standard of airbrush work I wanted to achieve, by doing portraits of the kids & friends was a foreign & difficult area, but I'm glad I set out to overcome some of those difficulties, offering to host LetterheadsOz 2007 is another completely different undertaking from any other, but with help, we're going to have the best meet ever! Dealing with digital prints is another new area that we're opening up slowly. "Interpretive signage" for parks is another new area we're getting some keen interest in.
It's a great mental exercise to try to keep out of ruts, however comfortable they may be!
Question, what skill would you like to develop more?

What was your favorite subject in grade school?

Really, I loved Social Studies & English. The biggest reason was the teachers...they really loved to teach and it showed.
Thank you Mr Grundman & Mrs Papes...whereever you are.
Q: Who was the one teacher you had who really made a difference in your education, (high school or college)
Posted by David Harding (Member # 108) on :
Coach Browder. He made me do a back flip on a trampoline 40 years ago and I broke my neck and I've had trouble with it ever since. Oh, you meant a positive difference? Actually, I really liked Coach Browder because he didn't tolerate all the cussing and dirty jokes that were so prevalent among so many of my classmates.
Although I have always loved to read and did well in English, I never really liked English class until I got Mr. Cargile in my sophmore year. Anything to do with math and science remained my favorites but he made me look forward to English class.

physics in high school and a Short story class in college. The art of writing a short story has almost been lost.
what is your favorite book?
Posted by Joe Golden (Member # 6870) on :
"The Art of Clear Thinking" by John C. Maxwell. For a long time when I would ask someone what they were doing as I notice them just sitting there, they would say..... "I am thinking" and I would say, "Well you know what thought did......nothing!!" After reading that book it was clear that thought with out action was dead time and that it was ok to make a mistake.
What is the nicest thing you ever did for a stranger?
Posted by Ian Stewart-Koster (Member # 3500) on :
I don't know, as I don't ask them how 'nice' it was, or how it compares...but I've changed flat tyres, offered to fetch fuel, donated livestock, I can't think of many more as I don't register it as something I need to remember- just do it & move on.

How much time do you spend with a perspective client prior to sealing the agreement?
Posted by Ian Stewart-Koster (Member # 3500) on :
"Perspective" describes how something like a drawing has lines that taper toward each other in the distance, Joey. Sometimes I wish the occasional customer would taper into the distance, but with 'prospective' cutomers, it's a case of 'as long as they seem to need, depending on the value of the project'. It can be 5 to 10 minutes, or longer. Usually I hope for less, but it seems somewhat relative to the job cost.
And for a former question- I like the variety in this occupation.
Question: How many business cards do you go hand out, or use up, in 12 months?
Posted by Joey Madden (Member # 1192) on :
I don't use business cards because I ran out but I do use my palettes which have my portfolio web address on them. This way they can access photos as well as my phone number. If they haven't a computer they probably can't afford my work. Yes I weed out people.

There is a monstrous house and iron gate where there once was a "public" access.

Question: What is the highest level of math you've learned - and do you still use it?
Posted by Ian Stewart-Koster (Member # 3500) on :
Two years at university studying engineering got me well into calculus & most other branches of higher maths, to a greater extent than we did at school, and with greater purpose, but since then I enjoy learning new high-speed mental maths approaches, like learning to figure out 247 x 247 in your head, quickly, or 46 x 87, or the square root of 45678 etc. I'm not that quick at all, but the learning & practicing is fun. We play memory games with the kids on long car journeys too.

What exactly is calendered vinyl?
Posted by Ian Stewart-Koster (Member # 3500) on :
It's stuff that falls off in 30 days (one calendar month) if the customer doesn't pay!
It's actually made by squashing vinyl flatter & flatter & flatter, calendaring it. It will have some desire to reshrink back, depending on the standard. Cast vinyl is poured into a puddle, and there it stays, very stable. That's a crude explanation, anyhow.
What aspect of signage would you like to learn to do well, which you currently do not do?

Q: Tell me about your kids/grandchildren.
Posted by Brad Farha (Member # 931) on :

My boy is an accomplished guitarist and is playing baseball and tennis, and my daughter is a free spirit, happy and playful all the time. She has a strong work ethic and plays piano. Both kids want to work in the sign biz, but they're still very yound and at the stage where dad can do no wrong. I'll give them a few more years and see how they feel about it then. Posted by John Byrd (Member # 825) on :
I've still got my overhead projector. It was my first purchase when I went out on my own in '86. And was the subject of my favorite cartoon by my Alaska based sign buddy.
Edited to answer the question: unfortunately, no the last time I used it was for a large mural in 2001. But it is still patiently waiting!
Did you start as an apprentice with one of the old timers or just hang out yer shingle and jump into the sign business?

Oh Ray it's definitely creativity . . . or is it the learning to be more laid-back in the creative process . . . or is it . . . . . .well ANYWAY- being totally and completely inspired by the awesome talent and willingness to share . . . there could quite possibly be no end to answering this question Ray and you KNOW it . . .
Q: How many pages do you think this game will likely become? How far can this go?? Is'nt this so much fun?! Ack! That's THREE questions, is'nt it??!!!

Karyn, I used to handle them by taking priority calls for quicker smaller stuff I can do fast in-between larger jobs as well as advancing income to rush a particular job and also juggling those customers who were willing to wait - since turn-around on most stuff is two weeks ANYWAY and rightly-so . . . .
Meanwhile . . . I also reply by juxtaposing the same-opposite question . . . can you please remind me of some of the umpteen-several ways to generate work when your knee-deep in time-with-no-jobs??

Go on holiday! Work has poured in the door once I planned to go to Moose Jaw! Trip starts TODAY!
Vicki (my daughter) is looking after the business while we are away for six weeks. I told her not to panic with the work load. Just tell people "NO" can't do it today and look after our regular customers.
How many Letterheads are I going to cross off my "meet in real life" list this trip? Lots I hope.

I so wanted to meet you too, Bushie. But, due to timing issues, I won't get to make the Moose Jaw meet. Maybe I will hopefully get to meet you on your turf one day soon. I'd like to bring you some genuine Vidalia onions from here in Georgia. You ain't lived til you've had a fresh Vidalia Onion sandwich, and maybe with some Marimite or vegimite and some sharp cheese to go with it. Question: I absolutely LOVE Gardenias!... is your shop clean and organized, messy but organized or a total unorganized mess? mines messy but organized.
Posted by Jane Diaz (Member # 595) on :
Depends on WHEN you are asking. Most of the time our shop is relatively organized. With 4 people sharing stuff, if it gets too messy, no one can find anything. Every so often we all do a mad clean and put things away and vacuum, etc. but when there are 20 jobs pile against the wall, cleaning has to take a back seat until it is absolutely necessary.

We did a van repair, working on 3 different sets of golf outing signs, a print for a tractor restoration, a banner for a DJ, repaired some numbers of a semi, working on (printing) 12) 4X8' for the National Guard units all over the state, some metal hospital signs (no smoking) and a logo for a new steak place in town and I'm working on a pastel portrait. WHEW! That was quite a DAY!

A 8 story hospital, all the ADA signage and directional signs, a little over 600 signs. Scared the hell out of me being a one person shop. Everthing worked out and they are a steady customer I have done 3 surgery centers and 6 clinics for them since.
Ever long for the bygone days before vinyl, everything seemed a little more laid back painting full time with One Shot.

Last week- and I don't know- they haven't replied! (it relates to a window logo in frosted vinyl being 1/8" off horizontal over 2 feet- my fault...!) I'm offering them a bit of other stuff for free, so I can leave it crooked. Alternately, I can maybe sneak over when it's closed, with an exacto, and trim it straighter, maybe...

A piece of pipe cleaner in each for a stem.

As for heights- in March I spent all day at about 100 ft up in the air in an EWP (elevated work platform) onsite at a local coal mine, lettering the coal bins. After about 1/2 an hr, your legs stop shaking & you can get on with it! Best day's pay I ever received!

What did you mean by that question, Mike?
Posted by Mike Faig (Member # 6104) on :
It was a question the proprietor of a local moonshine establishment would ask before allowing one to enter. The correct reply was: "You bet your sweet ass I'm a Turtle". It was called The German Hillbilly Inn. Later changed to Fort Marx. It was run by Fred and Maria Marx. They came from Germany following WWII. He was a brewer of many elixirs. We would drive out to his place, in the middle of nowhere where Maria would feed us her German food and Fred would force large quantities of his brandies and such into us. Fred would brew beer, wines, brandies, cordials, and corn whiskey. We would always leave with a jar full of cherries soaked in 'shine and a beer for the road. Needless to say, we're lucky to be alive, and to have experienced The German Hillbillies.

What happened on the guy on the crotch rocket?!?!
Posted by Jillbeans (Member # 1912) on :
Well, he got up off the bike running. He was only wearing shorts and tennies. I thought he had the deer's blood on him until I realized his left arm, from wrist to his shoulder blade, was skinned raw. He seemed OK other than that, the paramedics checked him out. I think he was in shock. I know we were. We live on a 4-lane highway and it's lucky only the poor deer was killed.

what is the funniest thing one of your kids has done.
Posted by Jeff Wisdom (Member # 6193) on :
There seem to be so many I can't keep track. My son Asa is 4 and daughter Jill is 10. Asa seems to have a real sense of humor at his age and is always trying to make us laugh. He is also a great help in the shop, (if I knew how to post photos I would) One of the funniest things is him putting things on his head...like my wifes bed pillow which is square, you know the kind that has the pocket? He walks around calling himself "pillowhead" and bumps into walls.. He put on sisters shower cap last night and looks hilarous. (Anybody tell me how to attach photos?)
What job has taken the longest time to complete?

My big park sign for a local community. Bid on it in April...got approved in August. Got the deposit check in September. Ordered the supplies in October. Delivered tham all starting in October and finishing on May 5th. I think it was close to 150 signs. They still don't have them installed.
If you could change your first name, what would you choose? Or are you satisfied with what you have?

I've gotten ribbed since I was a kid for my name. Ray Ray Ray-ome...that one used to bug me.
It pretty much changed all by itself when the nickname came along. Most folks in town and the majority of my customers refer to me as Rapid...some don't even know my real name. As for changing, I wouldn't mind changing the last name. You don't wanna know how bad it gets butchered by telemarketers.

Thanks guys! I don't care what what any of you think about me having a full time job... Hahahahahahaha! Yup... laughing with some of you and at some others. LOL! Just kidding.

If you could turn back the clock and start over again, what would you change?
Posted by Ian Stewart-Koster (Member # 3500) on :
That depends on whether or not I know what the current outcome is, or whether the clock is like the current one, and the future is unknown...
I do not have any real regrets, except to trust my instincts even more than I did when in some times of doubt, and to spend more time with family & friends where possible- both moves I am making anyway.

Posted by Bruce Bowers (Member # 892) on :
No but I know someone here that does... Too bad he makes such an ass of himself when he drinks. He is a decent guy when he is not drunk.
What do you have for pets?
Posted by Ian Stewart-Koster (Member # 3500) on :
Only one pet here- a white cockatiel that Joan found on the side of the road one day- but plenty of 'farm animals': four dogs, three cats, eight(?) guinea pigs, 30(?) chickens, two geese, 25 cattle, 15 clydesdales, 1 quarter horse. You don't count the few dozen kangaroos that free-load on our grass down the gully paddock.
Will you ever be satisfied with your current computer system?
Posted by Jillbeans (Member # 1912) on :
#1-I don't grow a garden because if I did it would be black. #2-I should wear better shoes while working, Saturday I was wearing flip-flops, tripped while carrying a heavy 1x8 sign, nearly dropping it, and my foot slammed into an .040 aluminum sheet, 5x10, which inserted itself between my toes and cut me. #3-I have to be, because I can't afford anything new, and my Gerber stuff has to run off of Win98.
Are you sick of this game yet?

Name something you love doing more than your work.

Spending time with family and friends. That would include Letterhead and Walldog meets.
I just found out (while we were out of town) that we hafta move. Not real convenient, but I'm looking forward to a hopefully more accomodating place for my work and family. What is the most drastic change you've had to make this year?
Posted by Brad Farha (Member # 931) on :
Reverting back to doing a lot of busy work rather than profitable work. Not by choice, that's just the hand I've been dealt this year. I had become spoiled with the good jobs I'd grown accustomed to over the last several years which have seemingly dried up.
What is your change in profits from this time last year?
Posted by Ryan Culbertson (Member # 7560) on :
Better than last year!!!!

Ever put a float in your local Celebration Parade?
Posted by Jon Jantz (Member # 6137) on :
Yes, I put Sun-In on my hair one time down at the beach. It turned a blondish-reddish-orangish color and I got harassed mercilessly by my friends for a couple of months until it grew out... won't be doing THAT again!!
Edited to add: Quick Dick got ahead of me... never done a float myself, but plenty of banners, lettering and signs for other peoples!
What is the best place you've ever visited on vacation?

i'll be working but not at 100%...hopefully will take one full day off though.
Posted by Jillbeans (Member # 1912) on :
My favorite hat belonged to my great-grandma and looks like something Lydia wore in Beetlejuice, complete with a net veil. I actually used to wear it to school my senior year, along with a big old top hat that was my grandpap's uncle's in the 1880s. And I'm working a little bit both days, today and tomorrow.

Pepper Vinegar...
Here in South Carolina there are three distinct Bar-B-Que regions. Mustard based, Ketchup Based, and Vinegar/Pepper Based. I'm from the Mustard based region but prefer the Vinegar/Pepper Based from the lower part of the state.
